ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Must be capable of following and meeting standard work requirements. Must be able to use computer programs to assist in recording data, making labels, obtaining prints and specifications, etc. Lead projects to improve equipment within the facility. Be able to continue to pursue future designs that will help Parker HPD move forward in leading-edge technology Troubleshoot equipment or PLC issues. Able to foster professionalism with all associates in order to obtain feedback and ideas to incorporate into improvements for the facility. Aide in the development of apprentices. DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS: Specify and order any materials required to create any approved project and document the final designs. This documentation must include items such as: blueprints, bill of materials, preventative maintenance standard work, etc. as required for continued support of the equipment Develop a spare parts stock strategy to organize and correctly account for that inventory and usage Develop safety practices that improve working conditions on equipment as needed and beyond OEM standards to ensure a safe Parker work environment in HPD plants Schedule equipment repairs or implementation with production control department. Other duties may be assigned at a later time Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures in a manner that eliminates risk to health and the environment. Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices unlawful activities and activities that present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately. Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Cross Functional Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Total Productive Maintenance. Supplier Quality: Support the Incoming Inspection Criteria, definition based on Jabil and Customer requirements from NPI standpoint. Cost Management * Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems). * Utilize tools to monitor departmental cost and cost trends, striving continuously to improve value (i.e. cost of Workers Compensation versus cost of wearing Safety glasses). * Provide feedback to management on cost and cost trends. Forecast Development and Accuracy * Provide feedback to Facilities Manager and Operations Manager on forecasts for the department. Technical Management Responsibilities * Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and metrics management. * Assess the adequacy of data gathering methods utilized by the workcells. * Assure that procedures and work instructions are efficient and not redundant. * Offer new ideas and suggestions for improvement. Identify and implement new practices and processes that are "best in field." * Implement the Environmental, Health, And Safety (EHS) activities in support of ISO 14000.
