Material Handler- Aftermarket
Job Description
Working under limited supervision: Receives, inspects, and documents all conditions as it pertains to customer assets using the company designated computer systems such as MSS, R-Card On-Line, Work Flow and IBM Notes. Issues and maintains travelers and associated orders to facilitate the timely repair, rework, modification, update or overhaul of customer assets in accordance with customer and company requirements. Knowledgeable in MSS and able to issue parts to shippers, repair and overhaul jobs and stock parts to maintain inventory accuracy and quality traceability requirements.
Working Procedure
1. Maintains current status, on a daily basis, of all end items for programs, which they (Order Detailer) are responsible for via the applicable computer programs or systems as required.
2. Must be able to complete MSS computer transactions as they relate to Order Detailer responsibilities. (i.e., split parts from job for rework, reallocate splits back to the job as applicable, secure rotables as required, core units, etc.)
3. Coordinates assigned program products with the assembly area within Aftermarket.
4. Process the Repair Work Order (RWO) through the various departmental personnel including customer representatives, where appropriate.
5. Submit requisitions as required to the storeroom personnel in support of the assembly, test and/or final preparation activities.
6. Maintain close liaison with Aftermarket Supervision to facilitate coordination of activities required to support customer products and Turn-Around-Time (TAT) requirements.
7. Maintains and supplies input to other functional areas and divisions as required by internal policy or customer requirements.
8. Receives, verify part quantity and store parts in proper locations. All parts to be stored by Aftermarket as defined by MSS stocking requirements.
9. Pulls, counts, and bags/kits parts requisitioned to accomplish assembly after allocating material as required via MSS systems.
10. Must be able to read, understand, interpret, apply, and train others in the application of all internal and external documents as it applies to the repair and overhaul functions.
11. Maintains stock records to show issues, receipts, and balance on hand for all parts in the stockroom via utilization of MSS system.
12. Transports customer assets to work areas as required.
13. Maintains stock record to show issues, receipts and balance on hand for all parts in the Aftermarket storeroom via utilization of the MSS system.
14. Must have a good knowledge of finished stores work or equivalent.
15. Participates in "Continuous Improvement" activities within the classification/department.
16. Helps train/instruct employees as required.
17. Must be able to apply simple mathematics.
18. Must have a working knowledge of the MSS system.
19. Willing to complete all transactions associated with the support of afterhours AOG activities

Primary Essential Function
Make mechanical and/or hydraulic repairs to all machinery, equipment, hydraulic test stands, hydraulic pump systems, and lubricates machinery and equipment.
Responsibilities
* Works with minimum supervision.
* Interprets and works from blueprints, hydraulic schematics, sketches, and manuals as well as oral or written instructions.
* Operates all machine tools.

A Brief Summary of This Position:
This position reports to the Quality Supervisor or Quality Manager. The NDT Inspector - Advanced will evaluate the assembly of fabricated materials by dimensional checks, visual inspection of welds and conduct nondestructive testing by ultrasonic, mag particle, and liquid penetrant processes. Responsible for coordination of the Quality area to meet production goals. Completes daily paperwork. Describe Valmont's quality system and demonstrate inspection proficiency for customer and third party auditors. Demonstrates a commitment to quality, productivity, safety and environmental policies. Responsible for communication within the work group ensuring teamwork and a productive work environment. Working with the production supervisor to maintain workflow of the area and report issues to the supervisor. Perform nondestructive examination (NDE) on material using methods including: visual, magnetic partial, liquid penetrant, and ultrasonic testing. Evaluate examination results and determine if material meets contract specifications. Responsible for generating and maintaining NDT reports and records for company and contractors.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for testing and evaluation, with absolute integrity, of products to ensure conformance to company and customer specifications
Makes decision in the area of codes (includes AWS D1.2) and specifications.
Interprets reports for NDT and passes or rejects quality acceptance.
Actively mentors and trains entry and Intermediate level NDT Inspectors, welders and floor staff, which includes monitoring and documenting OJT progress as well developing training programs.
Able to perform metallurgical testing including weld coupon testing, positive material identification, and macro examination of weldments.
Able to obtain and maintain advanced inspection certifications including AMPP (NACE) CIP or Phased Array UT, if required by Valmont.
Has the authority to reject material, stop work in process etc. to minimize financial loss and risk of customer dissatisfaction.
Works under production conditions with accurate performance and completion of work within set time limits
Accountable and responsible for essential tools and equipment provided along with the maintenance of these tools, to include calibration
Actively participate in department safety, demonstrate excellent safety practices and behaviors which conform to all Valmont safety policies and procedures
Maintain timely and consistent attendance

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
Work is typically performed in a manufacturing plant environment and the incumbent needs to be able to move about the office, shipping area and all areas of the plant which are producing product line for the company. There is a relatively constant exposure to somewhat disagreeable work conditions such as dust, dirt, heat, fumes, and cold as well as noise levels above 80 decibels. Work conditions vary throughout the week depending on the area of the plant assigned to work in. There will be visits to both indoor and outdoor locations during all seasons of the year.
Many of the tasks are physical and the incumbent has to be able to lift up to 50 lbs. although the most frequent amount of weight lifted is 20 lbs. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. * Build hydraulic test setups according to hydraulic schematics provided by Engineering.

Position Summary:
A technically strong strategic marketing leader with excellent interpersonal skills is sought to join the Business Development organization to support the pneumatics leadership, BU GMs, and commercial sales teams. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Formulate strategic market and product line strategies based on deep market insight; gather and analyze market data and provide opportunity assessments by end-application, technology/product, competitor, and customer segmentation, with a goal of identifying targets for profitable growth in optics.
· Maintain and update the source code for IMBED, Pneumatics' playbook for customer acquisition and consultative selling.
· Create a highly focused marketing function that charts and owns plans around:
Website (eCommerce, content, messaging)
Social media (LinkedIn - promotion of IDEX Performance Pneumatics, supports hiring plans)
Tradeshows
· Drive strategy of Product, Price, Promotion, Place and People (5P) across IDEX Pneumatics sites in partnership with the BU GM's (through the lens of the strategic market-based vision)
· Partner with BU GMs to incorporate IMBED™ into each business through partnerships with the commercial functions at the BUs.
· Facilitate and drive strategic initiatives through the inception phase in collaboration with Business/Product Line Leaders, targeting market share expansion via differentiated new product development (NPD) in the selected strategic markets
· Create an acquisition roadmap, then identify and cultivate acquisition targets aligned with the Group's strategic vision.
· Participate in executing overall business strategy, including, but not limited to, the yearly strategic plan process.
· Works across the group to drive success through product and sales collaboration across internal businesses with shared customer solutions or growth opportunities.
· Responsible for developing a portfolio of consultative relationships with key opinion leaders to allow pneumatics to take advantage of transformative advances in product/technology innovations and translate into highly differentiated new product offerings

SCOPE OF ROLE:
New product development at Gast Manufacturing begins with a product definition from the product management team where the specifications of the desired product are clearly outlined. It is the role of the engineer to develop, validate and launch into production a product that meets the requirements of the product definition. Key success metrics are meeting final product cost targets as well as adherence to launch timeline and project budget.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Establish Detailed Product Requirements: Must be able to conceptualize a compressor or vacuum system based on product definition document and input from sales and product management.
• Engage in Concept/Prototype Design: With support of dedicated CAD designer, develop a concept that can be built and tested. This includes material and component selection, pneumatic and electrical design and all associated calculations.
• Prototype Assembly and Testing: Oversee machining and procurement of prototype materials. Participate/oversee the assembly, troubleshooting and validation testing of working prototypes. This includes all electrical and pneumatic components.
• Collect, Process and Present Technical Data: Accurately communicate milestone progress, product performance, project budget and product cost to internal and external stakeholders.
• Create a Robust Manufacturing/Assembly Process: Utilize pilot builds, tooling engineering and manufacturing support staff to implement an efficient, cost effective and robust assembly and end-of-line testing process.

• On time delivery of project milestones.
• Proper execution of all milestone documentation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS OR EQUIVALENCIES:
• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from ABET accredited university in Mechanical, Materials, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years, preferred 4+ years of functional and HANDS-ON product design and development experience with demonstrated expertise in bringing new products from concept to commercialization.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: KNOWLEDGE:
• Pneumatic Technical Knowledge: Knowledge and experience in 1-3 pneumatic/fluid pump technologies (rotary vane, rocking piston, lobe, scroll etc.)
• Manufacturing Process Knowledge: Experienced in 1-2 manufacturing technologies (sand casting, die casting, injection molding, etc.)
• Software Knowledge: Experienced in MS Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SolidWorks, Wrike (or equivalent project mgmt. software).
• Knowledge of Gast Processes (or Industry Equivalent): Awareness of general engineering processes. Able to independently utilize milestone/tollgate process, product validation processes, engineering change requests, new model setup documentation, lab/model shop work orders, etc.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
• Product Development Skills: Full Prototype capability (clean sheet design). Troubleshooting all performance, sound, vibration, temperature, or assembly issues.
• Calculations: Bearing life, tolerance stacks, bore, stroke, pump up time, duty cycle, tip angle, compression ratio, eccentric balance, press-fit calcs, production test limits. Able to complete all mentioned calculations with little to no assistance.
• Data Analysis: Understand and interpret basic performance curves, endurance measurements, temperature measurement and costed BOM analysis. Understand and interpret sound and vibration test results. Perform basic statistical analysis.

Essential Functions
Fuse or weld metal structural components together by means GMAW arc welding in the fabrication of communication towers, components and overhead sign structures
Perform welding operations requiring a limited amount of planning of work from blueprints or other written specifications and determine operation sequence
Utilize all safety devices and wear all mandatory personal protective safety equipment
Adjust welding equipment to its prescribed settings
Maintain and operate production tooling and fixtures as well as all welding equipment in a safe and secure manner
Read and complete labor reporting system, standard shop forms and blueprints
Other duties as required and/or assigned.
Important Details about the Role
The employee is responsible for own work.
Must be able to work with other employees to complete job.
Setup, operate, and perform general maintenance of equipment without difficulty.
Make mathematical calculations in preparing product or setting up the machinery.
Read and decipher blue prints and flat sheets without assistance and use them to properly weld scheduled.
The employee must maintaina safe and productive work environment producing a quality product which is shipped complete and on time to satisfy the needs of the customer.
The employee has a direct impact on safety, quality, productivity, TME (total manufacturing expenses), and customer satisfaction.
This position reports to the Production Supervisor.
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
The ability to calculate simple mathematics and interpret shop drawings.
Basic working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook or similar email software.
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Must have an acceptable attendance and prior employment record
Three (3) to Five (5) year of previous, hands-on MIG welding experience in a production environment
Multi-pass, stack layering welding experience
Ability to operate overhead cranes, prior experience preferred
Ability to read weld symbols and understand blueprints
Must be able to use and accurately read a tape measure
Able to lift up to 50 pounds
Communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
Must be a person of passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
Wear required personal protective equipment and follow facility safety regulations.
Maintain a safe and productive working environment.
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Three (3) to five (5) years of previous experience in a professional welding position
The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions
The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
AWS certified welder operator qualification
Must have a high awareness for safety at all times.

Educational Background
Able to do basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and fraction conversion)
Able to read and comprehend routings and blueprints
Able to use a tape measure
Able to use a computer to enter production date, perform time keeping functions, interface with machines and other equipment

Engineering Internship Program
The Parker Engineering Internship Program is focused on the development of new talent by exposing interns to the dynamic field of Engineering. Interns gain a valuable understanding of real world projects, tasks, challenges, and opportunities that exist within the industry. This paid internship is used as a springboard into one of Parker's Leadership Development Programs, by which practical experience gained during a summer internship creates an exceptionally prepared candidate. Students normally work from late May to mid-August and are provided with specific, meaningful, and measurable goals. This position will be in Manufacturing Engineering, working on process improvements within our Assembly and Test Departments.
Assignment at a Parker Hydraulic Pump and Motor Division, 100 Parker Drive. Otsego, MI
Ability to work in-office 40 hours per week during Summer
Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Engineering, preferable Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial at an accredited 4-year college or university in the United States (housing not provided). Preference will be given to junior status or above
Ability to work effectively on a variety of assignments
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team member
Experience using engineering CAD programs, PLC programming
Able to interpret engineering drawings and have knowledge of fundamental engineering principles
Strong mechanical aptitude
