Position Summary Our Wire Braider & Winder Operators are responsible for the set-up and operation of all wire twisters, winders and braiders. This is a 1st shift position. 1st shift hours are Monday-Friday, 6am-2pm. Responsibilities /Principal Accountabilities 1. Operation and set-up of wire braiding machines consists of transferring wire from shipping spools to bobbins suitable for use in braiding machines. Operator must maintain the condition of the bobbins prior to winding. 2. Operation and set-up of wire braiding machines consists of the physical transfer of full bobbins to braider decks, removal of empty bobbins from braider deck and splicing operation required during transfer. 3. Monitor bobbin footage, wire condition and tensions. 4. Change over of tooling and gears as necessary to ensure proper dimension. 5. Visual attention must be given to the payoffs, adhesive application, braid pattern, inking and take-ups while braiding. 6. Perform all required quality checks and record all pertinent information to ensure quality standards are met. 7. Package product according to instructions to include the making of cartons and spools as required. 8. Accountable for process, evaluation, measurement, documentation, and improvement on a continual basis in order to meet plant business objectives. 9. Participate in area and process team activities and projects. 10. All irregularities will be reported to the Shift Supervisor or Leader. 11. Perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor or Leader.
