Enter patient information into an electronic medical records system and use systems to produce and conduct referrals, prior authorizations, medication research, and other related duties.
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
Prior MedicalAssisting experience preferred.
Maintain composure even in very difficult situations.
Knowledge of hematology/blood collection technology, techniques, and procedures.
Customer service skills.
Knowledge of terminology used in diagnosis and classification of illnesses, injuries, and disabilities.
Follow directions as communicated in a variety of ways.
Show sincere interest in others and their concerns.
Understanding of patient handling techniques.
Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, generic and trade names, and ICD coding.
Develop effective relationships with patients, hospital departments, and other external parties.

At Franciscan, our MedicalAssistants & LPNs are critical for supporting a variety of clinical duties for multiple ambulatory clinics. This role assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care, scheduling appointments, executing physician orders for lab testing, entering information in electronic medical record system, and functions as a liaison between patients, coworkers, and providers.

This is for a Urology office; scheduled days would be Mondays and Thursdays 8A-4:30P, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 8:30A-5P

Provide a more personal approach to direct patient care in a variety of outpatient settings, which may include: rooming patients, taking vitals, obtaining a comprehensive medical history, document care of patient via electronic medical record, administering vaccines, injections, and medications, phlebotomy, point of care testing and medication reconciliation under the supervision of RN/Provider.
Gather requirements from internal and external customers and provide information via phone, electronic messaging and in person.
Initiate and follow through on prior authorizations, referrals, and process sample medications, prescriptions, and refills as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required High School Diploma/GED
Required Program MedicalAssisting OR an associate's in nursing (LPN)
In lieu of medicalassistant program, 5 years of medicalassistant experience is required
Required Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
For an MA, you must have a certification as a Registered MedicalAssistant (RMA) - American Allied Health, Certified MedicalAssistant (CMA) - American Association of MedicalAssistants (AAMA), MedicalAssistant (RMA) - American Medical Technologists (AMT), Registered MedicalAssistant (RMA) - American Registry of MedicalAssistants, Nationally Registered Certified MedicalAssistant (NRCMA) - National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), National Certified MedicalAssistant (NCMA) - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), OR as Certified Clinical MedicalAssistant (CCMA) - National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
For an LPN, you must be licensed in the State of Indiana
