Performs inspection and packaging of plastic parts. Adheres to all plant and OSHA safety policies and regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Must be able to run 3 IM machines independently after a 5 day training period.
• Processes manufactured parts per job instructions, pack verified amounts, and label appropriately.
• Constructs boxes for packing at assigned machine.
• Visually inspects parts for defects as noted on QPM and sample boards to ensure quality parts are being packed in compliance with specified requirements.
• May cut off runners with gate cutters and inspect such things as springs or screws to ensure finished part meets specifications.
• Enters information on log sheets such as in-process books every two hours as quality checks are made to ensure product consistency and conformity to quality standards.
• Understands production records and is able to keep accurate counts of accepted, rejected and scrapped product as noted on packing logs.
• Lifts and carries boxes (up to 50 lbs.) to pallets for removal to shipping or storage. On occasion may use pallet jack to move pallets of boxes or totes.
• Responsible for keeping the assigned work area well organized, clean and neat
• Alerts shift supervisor of machine malfunction or scrap quantity issues.
• Maintains effective working relationships with other coworkers
• Additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Ability to work with coworkers in a team environment.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Ability to maintain and understand records and data, as well as complete required documentation.

1st Shift (6:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.) 2nd Shift (3:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.) Saturday (as needed: 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.)
As a MachineOperator, you will perform a variety of standard operations to produce welded wire mesh and meet production schedule requirements, meet all quality specifications, perform set-ups, changeovers and assist with routine maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Work from specification sheets, job orders, written and verbal instructions.
Set-up manufacturing process while ensuring the speed and temperature of equipment is in accordance with prescribed levels for various wire size and types.
Determine materials that are necessary as indicated by production specifications and ensure all process tanks are filled to proper levels as prescribed by engineering, supervision, and Quality Control.
Select correct wire for production run and ensure proper installation; feed wire leader through machine and position for pick up.
Operate equipment, making temperature, speed and product adjustments to equipment as needed and per protocols to maintain quality and quantity control during processing.
Perform minor maintenance and general upkeep of line equipment.
Correct cause of improper processing.
Report serious problems to the maintenance department or supervisor.
Ensure that all products are properly tagged.
Use skimming/drowsing tools in performing those operations.
Use Uni-shear or splice tools during training or while assisting, use hand tools for equipment adjustments.
Use various hand and electrical power tools, micrometer, plug gauge, supplies and equipment to perform job
Maintain necessary records.
Move materials as necessary in the performance of duties or as directed.
Detect and report improper operation of faulty equipment and unusual conditions to the supervisor.
Maintain work area and equipment in clean, safe and orderly condition. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations along with maintaining quality standards.
Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
Requirements:
High School Diploma required or equivalent with 2-5 years of experience as a machineoperator or outstanding mechanical aptitude.
Must be able to work independently.
Must be detail oriented and organized.
Maintain a clean work area.
Lifting requirements up to approximately 50 lbs.
Maintain high levels of efficiency and quality.
Good mechanical aptitude.
Physical Demands:
On feet for most of shift.
Lifting up to approximately 50 lbs.
Pushing, pulling, turning, twisting, and bending.
Moving heavy weight material, such as wire mesh rolls.
Repetitive hand motion.

Full-time Description
The MachineOperator will read blueprints, make adjustments, set stops or guides, and look for defects in parts while operating a metal saw, poly saw, or shear.
The Stamping Operator will produce stamped parts by operating a stamping press; maintaining quality and safety standards; and keeping records.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Starts, stops, and sets up machines in a safe manner.
Operates the machine, keeping an eye out for any defects or issues.
Uses measurement tools to ensure accuracy.
Completes quality checks to verify condition of material.
Verifies type of material before cutting.
Changes blades, cleans sensors, replenishes coolant, and calibrates machines.
Operates forklift and crane.
Helps pack and transport finished pieces as needed.
Accurately completes paperwork.
Maintains 6S (sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain, safety) standards in all work stations.
Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Skills:
Knowledge of blueprint reading.
Organizational skills and attention to detail.
Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Basic math skills (ex. addition, subtraction, multiplication, converting fractions to decimals, converting standard measurements to metric system, etc.).
Basic computer skills.

Abilities:

Preferred Education and Experience:

Physical Requirements:
Uncontrolled environmental conditions: noise, dust, dirt, and mobile equipment.
Routine, repetitive lifting up to 35 lbs., occasional, heavy lifting, and pushing / pulling 10 lbs. regularly, 1 to 10 hours per day.
Any combination of standing, bending, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, feeling, and walking 8 to 10 hours per day.
Ability to work up to 8-10 hour shifts and overtime as required by the work.
Use of all limbs, dexterous and steady use of hands and arms for long periods of time.
Simultaneous mental and muscular coordination, visual and audio awareness of surrounding area.
Note: This position may require working with fiberglass, which can be itchy to some.
