We are hiring an industrial wastewater treatment plant operator to support a former landfill project in Aurora, Colorado. This is our starting pay range with room for advancement with proven performance! Lowry Landfill Superfund Site is a long-term project and renewal of the contract is based on Parsons' performance so all Parsons staff at Lowry Landfill must perform their daily duties safely with skill and integrity without exception. **Job Summary:** This position will assist certified operators in the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant and gain work experience and training to become a certified industrial wastewater treatment plant operator. **Duties and Responsibilities:** + Under general supervision, perform a variety of skilled technical duties and semi-skilled labor tasks in the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant + Maintain a complex groundwater collection and treatment system that includes chemical precipitation of solids, moving bed biological reactors, an advanced oxidation process using ultraviolet light and peroxide, and an IX treatment system. + Perform assigned treatment plant rounds; inspect, monitor, troubleshoot, test and document plant processes + Operate, monitor, repair, and adjust treatment plant machinery and equipment including pumps, valves, motors, meters, tanks, reservoirs, feeders, and other equipment to maintain appropriate plant operations + Collect and document samples and perform a variety of routine water quality laboratory tests **Successful candidate shall have the following competencies:** + Maintains a high-performance standard, pays close attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness + Effective time management, maintain high level of productivity, completes work in a timely and consistent manner + Uses sound judgement to make good decisions benefiting the project and the client **Successful candidate shall meet the following requirements:** + High School diploma, or equivalent, and typically 6+ years of related work experience, or an Associate's Degree in a related field with 4+ years of experience + Must be able to pass a pre-employment fit for duty evaluation, drug test, and a background test + Valid Driver's License with the ability to clear an MVR check + Adherence to a strong safety culture + Mechanically inclined with experience operating and troubleshooting tools and equipment + 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER is a plus, but we will provide the right candidate with that training + **State of Colorado Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator Class D or higher** **Security Clearance Requirement:** None This position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.
