* Work under minimal supervision with broad guidelines, to assign, review, and evaluate the performance of new project orders; directing interdisciplinary project teams as needed to ensure project needs are met.
* Strong project leadership to help ensure conformance with Stantec's Project Management Framework (PMF).
* Develop stormwater management, drainage, and erosion & sediment control designs tasks for civil, transportation, and environmental projects, including closed/open drainage systems, environmental site design, ponds, stream restoration, flood studies, and E&SC controls.
* Prepare complete submission packages, supporting calculations, cost estimates, project schedules, and other duties; effectively facilitate the agency review/approval process.
* Process construction permits through local permitting agencies.
* Oversee and direct flood studies and lead supporting tasks, including hydrologic and hydraulic studies, and floodplain mapping.
* Perform hydrologic and hydraulic surface water modeling with 1D and 2D HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-SSP, USGS tools, and others in support of flood risk studies and other water resources projects
* Support Stantec's Flood Risk Mapping, Assessment, and Planning (Risk MAP) projects or similar flood study projects.
* Develop Conditional Letters of Map Revisions (CLOMRs), Letters of Map Revision (LOMRs), and No-Rise Analyses.
* Work on multiple projects and be responsible for projects of average complexity/size.
* May serve as Engineer-of-Record (EOR) on project tasks.
* Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
* Participate in client project requirement meetings and value analysis and cost estimating.
* Collaborate with other team members while working on projects; complete tasks and delegate specific project tasks to other team members as appropriate.
* Collaborate with project managers, and senior engineers to develop and manage the project scope, budget, staffing and schedule.
* Ensure strict compliance with contractual requirements.
* Coordinate with Stantec leadership and client contacts routinely to explore future opportunities, budget planning, and staff resourcing needs.
* Develop fee proposals for a variety of sizes and complexities, working with other task managers as needed to address all technical disciplines.
* Perform quality reviews of other engineer's work.
* Conduct peer and quality reviews on applicable projects.
* Mentor/supervise junior staff and promote career development.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
* Must have a high attention to detail, strength in time management and organizational skills, and good written and oral communication.
* Strong project management credentials, including but not limited to scoping, establishing schedules, project plan development, and routine tracking/reporting throughout project implementation.
* Proven experience successfully executing technical design tasks and driving project delivery.
* Skill in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Project).
* Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley CAD programs including MicroStation, Open Roads Designer, and ProjectWise.
* Experience with plan approval and permitting in Montgomery County, Prince Georges County, and/or the District of Columbia.
* Proven capabilities in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, PCSWMM/XPSWMM (or other modeling software). 2D modeling experience preferred.
* Proven capabilities in ESRI ArcGIS Pro and/or ArcMap.
* Ability to travel locally on short notice (in and around DC Metro area).
* Ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner, both in writing and in person, with coworkers, clients, employees and the general public.
* Ability to present to both small and large groups on a wide range of projects.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness.
* Must have a good driving record and valid driver's license.
Education and Experience
* Bachelor of Science (minimum) in Civil, Water Resources, Environmental Engineering, or other closely related degree required. Masters preferred.
* Minimum of 3 years prior experience in a similar role required.
* Minimum of 7 years of experience in water resources design and analysis for a professional engineering firm.
* Professional Licensure (PE) required.

Pay Range:
* Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas-$117,800.00 - $176,800.00 Annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
