POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is currently initiating a search for a Project Coordinator for our Overland Park, KS office. The following locations will also be considered: Boise, ID; Mt. Supports project teams by coordinating a variety of administrative and operational tasks that facilitate the efficient execution and delivery of project objectives. + Develop and maintain detailed project logs, schedules, and status reports for use by internal teams and clients.

+ Develop high level awareness of power generation design and owner's consultant support, including project planning, conceptual designs, interconnection requirements, detailed design, material procurement, construction specifications, and construction support.
+ Coordinate with external project stakeholders to acquire specific status updates and summaries for the overall project team.
+ Coordinate updates to project dashboards and reporting tools, including cross-checking input from multiple contributors.
+ Anticipate risks related to schedule, documentation, or compliance, and escalate appropriately with recommendations.
+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

**Who You Are**
**Required Qualifications**
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Minimum of 3 years of relevant post-education experience in related job capacity.
+ Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
+ Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project tracking tools such as Smartsheet, MS Project, or Excel-based trackers.

Your Role
The selected candidate will provide support on various environmental projects throughout Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri. This position will primarily support soil and groundwater investigations and removal activities at Superfund sites located throughout EPA Region 7 (Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, and Nebraska). However, work on other sites throughout the U.S. may also be required. Responsibilities will include:
* Management of field projects, including supervision of junior staff.
* Preparation of cost estimates and work plans.
* Writing and technical review of reports to clients and regulators.
* Oversight of monitoring well installation and well logging.
* Planning and oversight of field studies including the collection of soil, groundwater, surface water, and indoor air samples.
* Interpretation of sample data and preparation of data summary reports.
* Supporting other environmental studies including Phase I and II environmental site assessments.
* The position will require extensive outdoor work as well as overnight travel.

Qualifications

**Key Responsibilities**

- Manages the communication with Local Union Halls for manpower requests, union craft referrals, including apprenticeship needs, and specific skills, in accordance with the needs of the site team and the terms of the labor agreement. Will conduct minimum weekly meetings with union stewards and minimum monthly meeting with Local Hall Business Agents.
- Will proactively provide advice and guidance to BVCI site team members on the implementation and administration of terms and conditions of the labor agreement and any specific or general knowledge or information pertaining to the Building Trades.
- Works with the site team and Local Union representatives to address and resolve all jurisdictional work scope assignment issues amongst the union craft.
- Works with the site team and BVCI Labor Relations to implement and handle all discipline pertaining to union craft employees and our internal and site-specific jobsite rules.
- Will handle fact finding, collection of witness statements, and any other information for purposes of employee discipline and for any grievances or EEOC charges that pertain to union craft employees.
- Manages the processes and reporting of information and key performance indicators for the assigned construction project and the company.

Your Role
The selected candidate will provide support on various Brownfields assessment and remediation projects in Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma, with the possibility of work in other states. This position will primarily support and manage due diligence and assessment efforts for Brownfields sites, including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments and hazardous materials surveys. Responsibilities will include:
* Write or oversee the preparation of reports, Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs), Sampling and Analysis Plans (SAPs), Analyses of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives (ABCAs), and Remedial Action Plans (RAPs) Preparation of cost estimates and work plans.
* Assist clients writing grant applications for both EPA and state assessment and remediation grants, going through state-level voluntary clean-up programs, and applying for revolving loan funds to support remediation efforts, as well as other related documents/tasks for grant recipients.
* Support proposal and cost estimate development.
* Market/manage existing and new clients.
* Communicate and interact with project clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
* Oversee and manage subcontractors during completion of site assessments, excavations, and other remedial activities.
* Limited field work, including the collection of soil, groundwater, surface water, and indoor air samples.
* Interpretation of sample data and preparation of data summary reports.
* Conduct Phase I ESAs.
* Support other environmental studies including asbestos and lead-based paint surveys, and mold and radon assessments.
* Mentor and train junior level staff.
* The position will require extensive outdoor work as well as some overnight travel.
In this position you will be part of multiple project teams, in some cases as a project manager and in other cases as project support staff. You will have opportunities to obtain licenses and certifications to conduct asbestos and lead related work if desired and do not currently have. You will continue to expand upon your experience and gain valuable experience while managing projects, project budgets and project teams and have the opportunity to expand further into leadership roles.
Qualifications
Candidates must have 8-12 years of experience in environmental consulting, knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, field experience, and management of field teams including, but not limited to: analyzing for hazardous materials in the environment (soil, groundwater, air, etc.), and management and oversight of remediation projects (ground water, soil, asbestos, lead and mold). The selected candidate must also have/be:
* Meet the ASTM definition of a qualified environmental professional.
* Extensive report writing and technical review experience and knowledge/understanding of the full life cycle of the Brownfields redevelopment process, including project knowledge and experience with EPA-, state- (in EPA Regions 6 and 7), municipal-led projects.
* Possess strong analytical, organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal)
* Highly motivated, customer focused and work well in a team environment.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, and Teams) required.
Preferred experience with Brownfields grant application writing, specifically the following items, is a plus:
* Research and identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and corporations.
* Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals and reports.
* Collaborate with program staff to gather information necessary for proposals.

The Opportunity
As the Solar Production Estimate Subject Matter Expert, you will have the opportunity to contribute to technical due diligence engagements for multiple types of assets, including solar and battery energy storage renewable energy projects on behalf of lenders and investors; serving in a supporting role to a multi-disciplinary team of Independent Engineering and Technical Due Diligence consultants.
This is a key role on a team of engineers, consultants, and financial analysts, with the expectation to provide subject matter expertise in solar production estimating methodology. Our POWER team is seeking a **Full Time Electrical Engineering (SAS) Intern - Summer 2026** to work out of our **Overland Park, KS** office. This temporary position is seeking individuals currently enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate degree program.
WSP USA hosts hundreds of internships across the United States to gain hands-on, meaningful work experience to enhance their education and professional aptitude. Our interns gain exposure to real projects while working side by side with senior staff. Through our Developing Professionals Network, interns gain mentorship, networking opportunities and lifelong career connections.
This internship is anticipated to take place during the Summer 2026 semester. The program is anticipated to take place from May 18, 2026 through August 7, 2026. The individual start date is flexible.
**Your Impact**
+ Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
+ Learn basic principles of Electrical Engineering.
+ Assist with electrical studies and troubleshooting SCADA systems for utility and industrial/commercial clients
+ Work on power systems including generation facilities, substations, transmission, and distribution systems
+ Participate in protective relaying tasks such as short circuit analysis, relay settings, and NERC compliance using specialized software
+ Support power system planning studies, including power flow, stability analysis, and automation of simulations
+ Contribute to infrastructure design studies like substation grounding, insulation coordination, and power quality analysis
+ Design and configure network and communication paths for SCADA systems, and troubleshoot communication systems on site
+ Develop and implement logic and control schemes for power system equipment, including on-site testing and commissioning
+ Prepare data acquisition lists, assign routing info, develop HMI screens, and commission data transfer schemes using various software
+ Complete training on assigned tasks.
+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
+ Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

**Who You Are**
**Required Qualifications**
+ Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering, or related, Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2026 or later
+ Must be 18 or older.
+ Demonstrated interest in Electrical Engineering, consulting engineering, electric utility industry, or related field, and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP's work and projects.
+ Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
+ Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects.
+ Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
+ Candidates must be willing to travel on occasion and work successfully in a customer-focused, project-oriented environment
+ Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering, or related, Masters or program, with an anticipated graduation date of August 2026 or later.
+ Successful completion of junior-level courses in power system analysis and/or power system protection
+ Prior internship and leadership involvement on campus.
+ Preference is given to applicants with any of the following: within 1 year of graduation, power system courses covering topics such as three-phase power, load flow and reactive compensation, protective relaying, symmetrical components, transmission line theory, power system transients, dynamic stability, and power system electromagnetics
+ Students who have passed or are scheduled to take the FE/EIT exam will be strongly considered for this position
