You'll have the opportunity to design a variety of structural systems, broaden your design experience and collaborate with other disciplines - all while delivering critical water infrastructure projects to your community. **Here's what you'll be doing:** + Performs complex structural analysis, perform calculations, and prepare sketches and drawings for the design of water and wastewater treatment plants, water resource facilities, and other complex structural facilities. + Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings. + Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs. + Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments. + Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials + Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses. + Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents. + Perform construction phase engineering duties such as site visits, responding to RFI's, and review of contractor submittals. + Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project. + May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances. + May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters. + Supervises Structural Engineers and works with Structural Technicians in preparation of structural drawings and specifications. Is responsible for leading larger production teams and serving as the responsible charge for projects. + Perform project administrative tasks, which may include any/all of the following: preparation of design fee estimates, monitoring progress against budget and schedule, management of project changes, and implementation of Quality Control requirements. **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related field) , and typically 10+ years of related work experience. Professional Engineer registration may be required. + Proficiency with use of non-structural software packages such as Bluebeam, ProjectWise, AutoCAD, and Revit + Proficiency with use of structural analysis software such as RISA 3D, STAADPro, or SAP 2000. + Familiarity with the latest editions of the International Building Code, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 53 **Preferred Qualifications:** + Master of Engineering or Master of Science from an ABET accredited Structural Engineering program and 10+ years of related work experience. + Previous experience **Security Clearance Requirement:** None This position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.
