In this role you will serve as Engineer-of-Record for drainage design on transportation projects, lead project coordination and document development, oversee quality control, mentor junior staff, support client relationships, and contribute to marketing and business development efforts.

Serving as Engineer-of-Record (EOR) for drainage design on transportation projects.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Inspector for our Transportation-Construction management (T-CM) Practice in Fort Lauderdale, FL. As a Senior Inspector you will observe the contractors work to determine the progress and quality of work on construction projects.
Essential Functions:
Identify discrepancies, report significant discrepancies to supervisor, and direct the Contractor to correct such observed discrepancies
Work independently, under general supervision, exercising advanced judgment in the application of standard methodologies and procedures for complex projects
Perform highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, making, and checking engineering computations
Inspecting construction work and conducting field tests and is responsible for coordinating and managing lower level inspectors
Reads and interprets contract documents (plans and specifications) to determine if the contractor's work is in substantial compliance with the contract documents. May make and/or check engineering computations
Maintains detailed accurate records of the Contractor's daily operations and of significant events that affect work
Inspect construction work
Perform sampling and field testing of component materials and completed work in accordance with the Construction Contract documents
Guide junior inspectors, as needed or directed
Some travel may be required
Minimum Qualifications:

Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to support our Water / Wastewater projects in Southern Florida!
In this role, you'll focus on the design of structures which support Water, Wastewater and Water Resources facilities, making water supplies more resilient and sustainable.
You'll have the opportunity to design a variety of structural systems, broaden your design experience and collaborate with other disciplines - all while delivering critical water infrastructure projects to your community.
Here's what you'll be doing:
Performs complex structural analysis, perform calculations, and prepare sketches and drawings for the design of water and wastewater treatment plants, water resource facilities, and other complex structural facilities.
Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings.
Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials
Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
Perform construction phase engineering duties such as site visits, responding to RFI's, and review of contractor submittals.
Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.
Supervises Structural Engineers and works with Structural Technicians in preparation of structural drawings and specifications. Is responsible for leading larger production teams and serving as the responsible charge for projects.
Perform project administrative tasks, which may include any/all of the following: preparation of design fee estimates, monitoring progress against budget and schedule, management of project changes, and implementation of Quality Control requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related field) , and typically 10+ years of related work experience. Professional Engineer registration may be required.
Proficiency with use of non-structural software packages such as Bluebeam, ProjectWise, AutoCAD, and Revit
Proficiency with use of structural analysis software such as RISA 3D, STAADPro, or SAP 2000.
Familiarity with the latest editions of the International Building Code, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 53
Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Engineering or Master of Science from an ABET accredited Structural Engineering program and 10+ years of related work experience.

RS&H is currently seeking a Water Resources Engineer III to join our team in Fort Lauderdale or Miami!
This position will have the ability to work a hybrid schedule of in-office and remote. As part of the infrastructure team, you'll serve an integral role in the firm by serving as a team expert and/or project lead; preparing project specifications and complete project documents, analysis, and reports; analyzing and interpreting data; performing analyses of design, planning, and impact studies, as well as cost analyses, design requirements, site selection, and limited design layouts; designing complete projects, systems, components, and/or processes; preparing project documents, engineering analysis, and reports; performing quality control reviews and ensuring achievement of key milestones; and performing field reviews and observations of ongoing construction projects. To be successful in this role, you must:
Have a degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program and minimum 10 years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Be a professional engineer in good standing.
Be knowledgeable of applicable federal, state and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances.
Be proficient in production software and construction document production.
Have proven ability to successfully address challenging or potentially controversial issues in a sound professional and business-like manner.
