In this role you will get to work on one of the premier Infrastructure projects in the world. This position requires a proficient working knowledge of Oracle/Primavera Project Management (P6) and an ability to apply a logical progression of construction knowledge primarily in heavy civil infrastructure work, tunneling, and/or light rail. Program background The Gateway Program is the most urgent infrastructure program in the country - a comprehensive set of rail investments that will improve commuter and intercity services, add needed resiliency and, in its later stages, create new capacity between Newark, New Jersey and New York City, the busiest section of the Northeast Corridor (NEC). The first phase of the Gateway Program includes the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP), which includes the construction of a new two-track tunnel under the Hudson River connecting to Penn Station New York as well as the full rehabilitation of the existing 110-year-old North River Tunnel. The Gateway Development Commission (GDC), established through bi-state legislation, is responsible for the financing and development of the Hudson Tunnel Project. As a tri-venture partner with Parsons, Arcadis, and Mace (MPA) is the Delivery Partners (DP)to provide advice, leadership, and support to GDC for the development and implementation of HTP. This is a master service with task order contracts for a 15-year contract encompassing a broad range of strategic advisory services, project management, design management, construction management, stakeholder coordination, federal compliance, operations support, office administration, and related services. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop detailed engineering and construction critical path method (CPM) baseline project schedule(s) (via Primavera) based upon input from estimating representatives and/or contract documents. May assemble data from variety of sources. Resource/cost loading of project baseline schedule(s). Develop baseline and updated cashflow charts/data as requested. Update and maintain the project schedule at regular intervals, identify and record the impact of work performed, and/or not performed as scheduled. This includes collecting actual dates and quantities installed via field records, progress data supplied by others, and/or visual inspection. Construction Scheduler shall also update and maintain actual costs/resources inputting data consistent with project invoicing. Support management through preparation and maintenance of forecasts and schedules. May draft construction network diagrams for specific area. Interface with other departments to provide scheduling/cost data for items such as sub-contract change requests, bid comparisons, new work item estimates, and resolution of potential schedule/work problems. May provide supervision and/or on-the-job training to clerical and entry level professional personnel assigned to area of responsibility. Develop preliminary and/or detailed schedules for estimates and work to be bid. Change orders and claims management. Coordination with project teams, as needed, to analyze delays and impacts and assist in the development of recovery schedules. Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction. JOB REQUIREMENTS: 4-year degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field and 8+ years of related construction scheduling work experience. Must have experience with self-performing construction activities for heavy infrastructure projects. Mastery of the Primavera Scheduling Software (P6). Change orders and claims management experience Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies. Strong written and verbal communications skills. Experience performing or leading project controls for mid ($50M+) to large ($500M+) capital construction projects, programs, and/or portfolios. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: * Implementing the requirements of AECOM's Construction Manager's (CM) EHS Management Plan (EHSMP) and Environmental Health and Safety Plan (EHASP). * Support the CM in preparation of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) in accordance with Client standards. * Support the CM in conducting various training for CM staff including new employee orientations, visitor orientations and Emergency Action Plan training. * Review all EHS related submittals by the Contractors, including, but not limited to, EHASPs, JHAs, monthly reports, asbestos/lead/mercury/PCB management and sampling plans, waste management plans, soil re-use, hazardous waste contingency plans, erosion and sediment control plans, and Stormwater Pollution Prevent Plans (SWPPP) to verify comprehensive oversight of all site activities. * Facilitate weekly EHS meetings with the Contractor's EHS Representative (EHSR), and other project management personnel as appropriate, to ascertain and discuss upcoming construction related activity EHS activities. * Conduct frequent construction site visits. * Track and monitor the Contractor's compliance with EHASP(s) and JHA(s). * Track and monitor all site EHSRs' performance including, but not limited to, reviewing the EHSR's daily reports and whether EHS issues are being adequately addressed. * Perform and submit daily reports of the Contractors' Work areas and document non-compliance with the Contractor's EHASPs and JHAs. * Review Contractor's incident reports for adequacy, participate in meetings related to construction related incidents, and verify all necessary Contractor corrective actions are implemented. * Submit EHS monthly status reports and metrics. Prepare monthly trending analysis of Contractor EHS performance. * Oversee Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) and drills for the site in coordination with Client staff. * Review and manage all EHS Annual Reports (i.e., EPCRA, Hazardous Waste, Confined Space). Qualifications Minimum Requirements * BA/BS in Safety, Engineering or related degree and 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. * CHST and/or ASP certification. * OSHA 10-hour Construction Health and Safety Course. * Knowledgeable in OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and 1910 Regulations. Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: * BA/BS Architecture or Engineering + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education * Licensed Architect or Engineer PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Direct experience managing projects for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Federal government portfolio (DOD, GSA, etc.) Experience with (UFC's, ETL's, AFMAN's, and AFI's.) Additional credentialing such as PMP, DBIA, and/or LEEP AP Experience in developing scope, fee, and terms for proposals and change orders for interdisciplinary teams related to building design and engineering. HDR is seeking a Geologist and Task Manager with 6 or more years of experience. The successful candidate may be based in HDR's Woodcliff Lake NJ, but other NY/NJ locations will also be considered. This individual will support our ongoing project workload on CERCLA and state superfund sites plus cross-sector services supporting our other business groups. Primary Responsibilities * Lead complex hydrogeologic/environmental field investigations with a focus on complex geological settings commonly found in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region (e.g., fractured rock and coastal plain) * Oversee data collection, processing, analysis, and interpretation including: * Field groundwater level and quality data collection methods * Experience with multiple drilling methods for various geological settings * Familiarity with design, construction, and development of groundwater monitoring wells * Developing and overseeing high resolution site characterization strategies * Using modern Remediation Hydrogeology concepts (such as mass flux/discharge or DNAPL assessment) to support complex groundwater remediation strategies * Development of geologic and hydrogeologic cross-section development utilizing geologic and geophysical data * Interpretation of subsurface aquifer conditions on a site and regional scale * Aquifer testing and analysis * Development of hydrographs and other graphic presentation of hydrogeologic data * Building Conceptual Site Models * Field team leader responsibilities (field and office) * Lead Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessment tasks * Take responsibility for proposal and report writing, development of soil and groundwater sampling plans, data analysis, site remediation, as well as project and client management support * Project management support including direction of junior staff, providing technical review, and oversight and mentoring * Report and proposal preparation support including scopes of work, project budgeting, tracking, and schedules * Client interaction and presentations * Perform other duties as needed Preferred Qualifications * Professional Geologist (PG) certification (NY preferred), or pursuing PG * Active in Professional Societies * Experience with quantitative hydrogeology * Familiarity with MODFLOW, MT3DMS, AQTESOLV and other numerical and analytical related software * Local candidates given preference Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Science, Hydrogeology or closely related field * A minimum of 5 years of experience * Prior experience with field work * Experience with well installation techniques, and groundwater and soil sampling procedures and analysis * Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs * Strong oral and written communication skills * Leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment * Ability and willingness to perform physically demanding tasks in adverse environmental conditions (rugged terrain, remote locations, hot and cold temperatures) * May require ability to travel * An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company.
