Job Description
Lead and mentor a team of financial analysts responsible for all aspects of year-end reporting including collection and analysis of all project level tax returns, audits, and related documentation in a manner that meets all required deadlines.
Supervise the asset management rotational staff responsible for all aspects of year-end reporting to ensure deadlines are met; provide training to staff on the project-level audit and tax return review.
Oversee the completion of quarterly project level analysis for the asset management team in a manner that reduces preparation time for asset management, provides initial insight into project level operations, and acts as a supporting function for the asset management team.
Assist in identifying projects with special reporting requirements, such as audit waivers, mini-audits, cost certification delays or estimate model preparation.
Perform extensive ad hoc reporting in Excel, synthesizing data from various sources to meet internal and external reporting needs; continuously develop skills in Excel, PowerBI and other relevant software applications to enhance individual and departmental performance.

Essential Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Analysis
Develop and maintain performance measures that support the company's strategic direction.
Analyze cash flow, cost controls, expenditures, and sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Identify and direct cost savings/process improvement initiatives and financial improvement opportunities throughout the organization, partnering with department leaders on opportunities/issues.

Experience:

Benesch is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Public Finance Project Manager! The right candidate for this position will have experience with preparing impact fee studies and/or special (non-ad valorem) assessments, presenting study results to agency staff and policy leaders, be able to handle a wide array of projects and multiple assignments, think creatively and critically, and participate as a team member in assignments and business development.
Location
This position can report to any of our Florida office locations (Ft. Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Miami, or Tampa) and will work a hybrid work schedule or be fully remote if located outside of Florida.
The Impact You Will Have
Prepare or oversee the preparation of technical analysis in the areas of impact fees, special assessments, infrastructure planning, and funding studies
Assist with quality control and assurance
Prepare project scopes of services and fee estimates
Prepare or review written summaries of analyses, including creating graphs, charts and tables
Lead client meetings and present study methodology and findings to elected officials
Prepare presentation materials for client meetings
Assist in the development of marketing materials, including project proposals
All other duties as assigned
What We Are Looking For
Master's degree in economics, finance, engineering, planning, public administration, geography, or related area
10+ years of relevant work experience
Certified Planner (AICP) license preferred
Strong analytical/qualitative skills
Ability to interpret related data
Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentations to the elected officials, stakeholders, and the general public
Project management experience
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Knowledge and experience in the following areas are required:
Demonstrated technical and legal proficiency in impact fees
