The Packer is responsible for packaging food products.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Load materials and products into package processing equipment.
Press switches and turn knobs to start machines to package products.
Observe and listen to equipment to detect possible malfunctions, such as leaks or plugging, and report malfunctions or undesirable tastes to supervisors.
Monitor lot numbers, expiration dates and/or manufacturing dates for each product.
Mark and label food products, using marking tools.
Measure, weigh, and count products and materials.
Examine and inspect materials and products to ensure that packing specifications are met.
Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records.
Remove completed or defective products or materials, placing them on moving equipment such as conveyors or in specified areas.
Seal materials, using a case sealing machine and hand tools.
Clean materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools.
Move completed boxes from conveyor line and assemble a pallet of product.
Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items manually.
Count finished products to determine if product orders are complete.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of food products.
Knowledge of arithmetic and reading and writing.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role is critical to ensuring that customer orders are shipped in full and on time by identifying, analyzing, and resolving any issues that may cause order shortages (“shorts”). The ideal candidate will be adept at navigating multiple systems, collaborating across departments, and responding quickly to allocation deadlines and fulfillment risks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily Shorts Management:
Investigate and resolve reasons why orders are “short” (i.e., cannot ship in full or on time), and determine the best course of action to rectify the situation.
Root Cause Identification:
Evaluate issues such as delayed packing, quality holds, transit delays, skipped work orders, reworks, early ship dates, or lead time issues.
Systems Utilization:
Use JDE ERP software to run reports (Open Order Report, Item Availability), manage allocations, and analyze item-level data.
Reference Transplace for logistics status.
Use Microsoft Excel to build tools and dashboards for internal tracking and communication.
Inventory Monitoring:
Investigate and resolve reasons why Finished Good Inventory is on Hold and determine the best course of action to rectify the situation, in collaboration with QC/QA and OPs.
Identity potential Excess Stock risks, in collaboration with Planning and Sales. Determine best course of action, to avoid rework and alternative channel LTO sales.
Monitor and track Component Inventory; validate Expiry Dates, Safety Stock levels are accurate and physical vs system inventory is reconciled.
Cross-Functional Communication:
Collaborate with production, planning, quality, customer service, and sales to provide timely updates and ensure alignment on fulfillment status and issue resolution.
Allocation Support:
Ensure orders are properly prioritized and allocated by the required deadlines to maintain customer satisfaction and logistics efficiency.
Customer & Sales Support:
Respond promptly to inquiries from sales and customer service regarding future order fulfillment, product availability, and possible expedite requests.
Stock Transfers:
Assist in the entry and coordination of stock transfers to 3PL (third-party logistics) partners across the country, supporting nationwide inventory movement and storage.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
2+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, production planning, or operations preferred.
Proficiency in JDE or other ERP systems (preferred).
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience working with Transplace or other transportation/logistics platforms is a plus.

The Machine Operator should be able to independently operate identified/assigned packaging machines installed at the site.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Compliance to SOP's, GMPs, Housekeeping, Safety, and all other FE policies.
Must inspect settings for codes, dates, leaks, oxygen levels, and seals to ensure proper operation of the assigned equipment.

About this job:
This position will ideally be based out of the Irwindale, CA office or Remote and report to the Vice President of Strategic Channels. This key position on the Sales Team will be focused on several strategic national customers in mass, grocery, natural, and convenience channels. It will involve strategic fact-based selling as well as project management. It will require extensive collaboration with internal marketing, product development, R&D, production and category management teams. The responsibility will be to develop and guide the implementation of account specific business plans that achieve profitability and sales targets.
The National Sales Director, Strategic Channels, will be responsible for the overall sales performance and strategic growth across top key accounts. This role will manage and develop relationships with existing and potential customers, driving revenue growth, and ensuring alignment between our manufacturing capabilities and the needs of our retail partners. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large national accounts, particularly in the food and beverage sector, and will work closely with internal teams to develop and execute strategies that enhance market penetration and profitability. They will have experience ‘hunting' and building a business in identified strategic channels and have a strong network with key customers and distributors.
Responsibilities Include:
Strategic Sales Leadership:
Develop and execute a comprehensive national sales strategy focused on driving growth within the mass, grocery, natural and convenience channels (e.g., Walmart, Kroger, Albertsons, Whole Foods, Sprouts, UNFI, Kehe, etc.).
Establish long-term relationships with key decision-makers at major retail and national chains, ensuring alignment with customer goals and the company's strategic objectives.
Account Management and Growth:
Manage and grow existing relationships with key customers in the identified strategic channels.

Qualifications:
Experience:
10+ years of experience in sales leadership, with a focus on large national accounts, specifically in the food manufacturing, fresh produce, or CPG sectors.
Proven track record in managing major retail relationships in mass, grocery, natural and convenience channels (e.g., Walmart, Kroger, Albertsons, Whole Foods, Sprouts, UNFI, Kehe, etc.).
Experience in negotiating large-scale contracts, pricing, and promotional agreements.
Deep knowledge of the food industry, including trends, distribution models, and customer behavior.

Position Summary:
