Overview As a Teller (Senior Member Service Representative) in our branches, you will have the chance to make a difference in the lives of every member you serve. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality service by assessing the Members' needs while processing their transactions efficiently. Responsibilities * Provide excellent service to our diverse members through prompt, efficient, courteous, and professional interactions. * Analyze members' needs while processing transactions, including cash handling, and provide education and recommendations on products and services that improve their financial health. * Build relationships with members through effective listening, interviewing, and communication skills to determine products and services that benefit their financial well-being. * Open accounts and submit simple loan applications for new and existing members after conducting a thorough needs assessment to determine the appropriate product(s) or service(s) that help them achieve financial freedom * Engage with new and existing members via follow-up activities, including outbound calls and community engagement events when appropriate. * Partner with branch leadership to maintain operational integrity while mitigating risk, following the standards of the organization. * Work cross-functionally across the organization to assess, handle, and follow through with complex account inquiries, transactions, or member concerns. * Adopt new and existing tools that will enhance the member experience and consultation process. * Exercise informed judgment as appropriate to accommodate members. * Serve as a resource to train new and existing team members as appropriate. * Advocate member adoption of new technology, campaigns, promotions, and digital products. * Understand and comply with all applicable federal and state laws and banking regulations (including those related to OFAC and Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering compliance) and Patelco Credit Union's policies and procedures. * Assess risk associated with your business processes and identifying control deficiencies to drive the company compliance and risk mindset and business performance. * Other duties as assigned. Responsible for detecting, reviewing, and reporting potential suspicious activities filtered by various AML systems. As an Investigator II, you will investigate external inquiries via law enforcement request, internal investigations for other groups (fraudulent instruments and inquiries), and other related transactional activity. Supports leadership and the investigations team in maintaining compliance with Golden 1 Credit Union's fraud prevention program. Assist with training and coaching of new and existing employees across various business lines and execute special investigations. TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS: Utilizes knowledge of credit union systems, processes, and contacts as resources for conducting investigations. Develops a plan of action and gathers, analyzes, and compiles evidence for multiple case assignments. Prepares case documentation and writes a complete final summary report of investigation. Investigate and respond to check fraud claims as received by members and/or other financial institutions. Investigate suspicious activity cases generated by the internal automated AML/BSA monitoring system or Unusual Activity Referrals reported by branch personnel and other lines of business. Review cases assigned for closure to ensure Verafin case has proper coding, and all steps are taken prior to closing account in DSUI. Assesses internal controls and procedures associated with assigned cases, identifying control breakdowns and makes recommendations to prevent future losses. Assists with determining new procedures to prevent, detect, and investigate fraudulent activity. Reviews fraud data to ensure accuracy for reporting and audit purposes. Assist with computer crime investigations and investigate breaches of information security policies as requested. Prepares recommendations as to whether a member's transactional activity is fraudulent and thereby requiring a BSA UAR referral. The recommendation will be based on an analytical assessment of internal and external data sources, internet, and other sources to provide the rationale for recommended courses of action. Reviews individuals' and entities' accounts reported in a police report utilizing different management systems to determine if other suspicious activity noted in the accounts should be reported. Prepares police report and/or BSA UAR referral if necessary. Performs red flag alert reviews on account activity for submitted fraud closures, determines if the previously reported fraudulent activity has continued or ceased. Files supplemental police report if additional suspicious activity is identified and works with BSA SAR Investigator on continued 90-day fraud referrals.
