Overview The Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for driving membership growth for specific segments and territories through membership events, partnership events, and outbound business development activities. This role plans, organizes, negotiates for, and represents Patelco Credit Union at corporate and membership events to deliver an energetic, high-quality experience to new and existing members. The Community Engagement Specialist maintains a leadership role within Retail by coaching and managing team members at events. This position is based at our San Jose East branch and will provide coverage for both the South Bay and East Bay Shore branches. Responsibilities * Effectively present Patelco Credit Union as the preeminent credit union that empowers members to achieve financial freedom. * Cultivate and develop new opportunities through networking that drive business to Patelco. * Maintain referral sources and maintain a partnership pipeline. * Execute regional outreach strategy. Plan, organize, and represent Patelco Credit Union in membership and corporate events. * Manage logistics and communications for events and partner with Patelco leadership to ensure Membership Development and internal policies are followed. * Manage collection and input of member information and track ROI for membership development efforts. * Drive workforce planning elements for Credit Union sponsored events, including adequately staffing, trend identification and event profitability and performance forecasting. * Open new accounts, process and/or fund loans. * Attend and promote events and tradeshows and reaches out to attendees post-event to promote Patelco. * Create and deliver sales and financial wellness presentations to different audiences. * Review and maintain knowledge of product guides, fees, and policies to stay current on offerings for product recommendations. * Provides answers and assistance for member questions/concerns, utilizing resources within Patelco. * Create, maintain, and distribute departmental reports and statistics to management and staff on event and membership growth performance. Maintain tracking and reporting at events. * Demonstrates a proactive, growth-mindset approach, and commitment toward process improvement. * Develops a team spirit among subordinates and supervisors; motivates every team member to promote and maximize sales and provide the highest possible level of customer service. * Understand and comply with all applicable federal and state laws and banking regulations (including those related to OFAC and Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering compliance) and Patelco Credit Union's policies and procedures. * Ensure that employees, processes, and procedures under your area of supervision comply with all applicable federal and state laws and banking regulations (including those related to OFAC and Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering compliance) and Patelco Credit Union's policies and procedures. * Support overall Membership Development strategy. * Perform additional duties as assigned. Identify, target, and market the Credit Union to potential fields of membership within the branch's demographic and local communities. Develop and implement branch business and marketing plans.
