Ridesharing and home delivery were a new thing back in 2015.
Pathao started its journey as a delivery service back in 2015 with its fleet of motorcycles and bicycles.
Back then, Hussain M. Elius, Pathao Founder and CEO, along with the co-founders Shifat Adnan, and Fahim Saleh started a Facebook group to provide delivery services to their friends in 2016.
In an interview with TechCrunch, Pathao Co-founder, Hussain M Elius confirmed that Pathao currently has over 50,000 bikes registered in its platform and the company is valued over $100 million as of April 2018.
In September 2018, Pathao launched its services in Nepal.
On 3 December 2019, Pathao became the first major ride-sharing service providing company in Bangladesh to get enlistment certificate from the authorities in Bangladesh.
As per reports, that's a massive increase of nearly $50 Billion Dollars as compared to that of 2020 which was about $75.39 Billion Dollars.
The market value of this sector is estimated to be around $117 Billion Dollars in 2021.
