Performs a range of diagnostic support duties which include taking, recording, and reporting to the nurse deviations in vital signs and changes in patients' condition such as diabetic, uremic coma, insulin shock, gastro-intestinal hemorrhage and reporting them to the nurse or doctor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Contractor Personnel Requirements/Specifications: The Contractor shall ensure that all contract personnel meet the qualifying criteria outlined in this section.
Registered Nurses (RNs) & Nursing Assistants (NAs): All Nurses & assistants must have certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by an American Health Association vendor. Personnel must be able to demonstrate competency in providing CPR and have current basic life support (BLS) certification. Critical care Nurses shall have advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification.
Licensure: The contract RNs must have a current license in at least one state, territory, or commonwealth in the US or the District of Columbia. Proof of current license must be provided five business days prior to their first shift, and at the licensure renewal rate. This also applies to all other required certifications.
Certification: The Contract RNs assigned to the Chemo Infusion Clinic is preferred to have completed the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) and competency requirements outlined in the Dimensions of Nursing Practice. The minimum requirements is having completed the Oncology Nursing Society Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration Course.
Education Requirements:
Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or in related field or a master's degree in Nursing or in related field is highly preferred.
Hours of Operation
The services covered by this contract shall be furnished by the Contractor as defined herein.
The Contractor shall be required to furnish such services on national holidays and during off-duty hours.
The Contractor will ensure responsibility for all employees reporting to designated unit as scheduled timely and that each contract employee document timecards accurately reflecting working hours.
If attendance requirements are not met, or if fraud/falsifying documents/timecards are discovered, may result in removal from the assignment/contract.
Contractor will replace contract staff within 48 hours. The following terms have the following meanings:
14.1. Workdays - a normal workday will be consistent with those of the Medical Center
14.2. Work hours are those hours in which a contractor's employee is physically present at the Medical Center in performance of the required services.

The PCT works alongside the clinical care team in providing quality and safe patient-centered care for patients during their clinic visit. Regular duties includes: triaging patient (vital signs, completing health screenings, obtaining ht/wt), rooming patient, cleaning rooms, assisting nurses with obtaining ECGs and other procedures. Opportunity, if desired, to work alongside providers assisting in running a clinic.
Minimum Education and Requirements: At least 1 year work experience in a .6fte PCT I position at MUSC CHS or 1 year of patientcare work experience in a health care facility; or a college degree, or active enrollment in nursing school with completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an accredited institution; or active enrollment in a healthcare related field from an accredited institution; or a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant, or equivalent training. Credentials: Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire. Thereafter, must maintain. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.

Obtain and record patient vital signs and machine readings during treatment
Role under RN supervision
Set up and break down dialysis blood system for treatment
Insert and remove patient access needles
Monitor patients during dialysis, document changes and inform charge nurse of any concerns
