DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Nurse Aide at the Gino J. Merli Veterans' Center, your role will be to provide nonprofessional nursing care to the residents. You will have an opportunity to actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss and contribute to treatment plans for residents. Your duties will include assisting residents with activities of daily living, distributing meal trays, applying safety devices, and reporting vital signs. You will also be responsible for transporting and escorting residents, as well as collecting specimens such as urine, feces, or sputum. In addition, it will be important to maintain a safe environment in the residents' rooms by addressing any hazards and reporting them to the nursing supervisor.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment (8 hours per day/40 hours per week)
Work hours will be determined from the following shifts, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work rotating days and weekends, with every other weekend off.

Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide safe transportation to students as directed.
Must comply with all state and local transportation laws and regulations and implement Pennsylvania Department of Transportation safe driving requirements.
Demonstrate the ability to follow directions and have good navigational skills.
Must be able to physically assist students entering and exiting the vehicle.
Responsible for monitoring and supervising student behavior while in the vehicle and report all incidents of misbehavior to the supervisor.
Demonstrate the ability to use time management to ensure the students are provided transportation at specific designated times and locations, in a safe and efficient manner.
Will maintain a clean school vehicle and report any vehicle maintenance problem to their supervisor.
Must be able to work in a team environment.
Other duties as assigned by administration.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or Equivalent (G.E.D.)
Experience working with children/students, preferred.
Utilized effective written and oral communication.
Ability to stand, lift up to 50lbs, bend, stoop, sit, lift, and reach to perform the essential responsibilities.
Valid Driver's License.
Must provide successful and continued renewal of required clearances.

Job Duties

Coordinate and perform patient check-in/check-out, ensuring accurate registration and information collection. Verify insurance eligibility, collect payments (co-pays or self-pay fee), and process referrals. Schedule appointments while optimizing clinic workflow. Handle patient inquiries. Maintain electronic medical records (EMR), ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Maintaining all required logs includes but is not limited to quality control logs and stat cart checks.
Measurement and collection of patient data including temperature, pulse, oxygenation saturation, respirations, blood pressure, height, weight, and in indicated pediatric patients, length, and head circumference. Ensure accurate documentation in the medical record.
Assist providers with the collection of patient information including reason for visit, chief complaint, health history, allergies and current medications for provider review.
Complete patient rooming process and implement standard operating procedures to expedite the care process and provide patient comfort. Identify patient risks and communicate them to the provider. Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring proper sanitation and supply stocking.
Collect and prepare lab specimens and complete necessary requisitions.
Administer medications and vaccinations per provider orders and established protocols within their scope of practice.
Support patient procedures and assist with medical examinations.
Complete follow-up phone calls to all patients within two to three days post discharge.
Minimum Qualifications
Specialized Diploma as a Medical Assistant or completion of LVPG Medical Assistant Trainee course.
Strong multitasking, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in EMR systems, word processing, and Excel.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining efficiency, in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
