The Physician Assistant will support an Orthopedic Surgeon with a Spine Fellowship. This doctor focuses on spine cases and utilizes the latest minimally invasive techniques and technologies. The Physician Assistant will run their own orthopedic clinic. Responsibilities include: providing first assist, running a clinic, patient evaluation and education, pre- and post-H&P?s, consultation and reviewing lab results in both a clinic and hospital setting. Successful Physician Assistants should be NCCPA-Certified/Eligible and have a passion for orthopedics. The doctor will train the right candidate.
The location is within a couple of offices within 15 to 20 minutes of the Hoboken area and one day in Manhattan. The position is 40 hours per week with no ER call or weekends or evenings. Performs venipunctures to obtain access for dialysis via AVG/AVF and for blood samples.
Understands and is able to operate the centrifuge machine
Prepares blood samples for transportation to the laboratory
Is able to trouble shoot individual dialysis machines
Capable of checking the conductivity, temperature and PH of the dialysate
Capable of checking for residual Sodium Hypochlorite.
Capable of checking the water system for Chlorine/Chloramine
Disinfection of Hemodialysis Machine
Monitor the water system as per established guidelines and parameters, document on log sheet and report any deviations to the Charge Nurse, Nurse Manager and Chief Technician.
Ensuring the enforcement of all policies and procedures including patient's bill of rights
Proper handling and storage of bio-hazardous waste and chemical
Have knowledge of emergency procedures. Able to function in an emergency situation under the direction of the person in charge:
Understand CPR protocols, and can assist during an emergency situation
Communicate information regarding the patient's condition to the MD, and RN
Assist with patient transport as needed.
Adheres to infection control standard of practice

Observes and reports any changes in the residents= physical, mental, emotional,
Behavioral, and social well being.
Takes and records TPR and reports deviations from normal to Primary or Charge Nurse.
Obtains specimens as assigned (e.g., urine, stool, sputum).
Weighs patient and records weight.
Assistspatient with activities of daily living including skin care (e.g., bathes, dresses, helps patient ambulate).

The CNA / Home Health Aide (HHA) will:
Assist with activities of daily living such as grooming, oral hygiene, toileting, bathing/showering, eating, etc.
Assist with personal and household chores, such as tidying up room, errands, delivering mail and/or newspapers.
Transport residents within the community to meals, enrichment activities, and other programs as needed.
Ensure resident care plans are reviewed and followed consistently.
Observe and monitor residents for behavioral changes and/or adverse reactions to medications or treatment plans. Communicate any changes to clinical staff immediately, as well as document changes thoroughly.
Respond to emergency calls, resident/visitor's requests and correct environment hazards in a timely, appropriate and safe manner.
Observe community policies and procedures regarding resident and team member safety, attendance, timeliness, house rules, teamwork, and resident service.
Maintain professionalism and resident confidentiality at all times.
Adhere to all Infection Prevention, OSHA, fire and safety regulations at all times, to ensure the safety and well-being of all community residents.
Perform all other duties as requested.
Education Requirements:
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Caregiver, CNA or Home Health Aide certification is REQUIRED.
Fulfill and maintain continuing education credits as required by state.
Must be willing to obtain and/or maintain current First Aid/CPR certification.
