Essential Functions

Arranges for patient appointments for diagnostic testing, consults, referrals and admission to hospital.
Monitors and maintains stock of medical supplies and proper functioning of equipment.
Documents patient's vital statistics and other encounter data into patient chart and ensures that all required records are in the chart. Obtains brief medical history and chief complaint from patients.
Calls in prescriptions for patients according to physician order.
Promotes positive health behaviors and self-care skills through patient education.
Prepares exam rooms with appropriate instruments, supplies and equipment. Cleans exam rooms between procedures and exams.
Receives and returns clinically related telephone calls; screening and forwarding those requiring physician action.
Completes medical/physical history forms and other related information for insurance companies.
Informs physician of changes in schedule.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibility
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Education - Completion of an LPN program recognized by the SC State Board of Nursing.
Experience - No experience required.
In Lieu Of
In lieu of completion of a LPN program, will accept program equivalency recognized by the SC State Board of Nursing.
Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
Licensed to practice as an LPN in South Carolina.
If an LPN team member working in this position obtains RN licensure, Prisma Health will accept RN licensure for a limited time until the team member can be placed in an RN position. Job Summary and Qualifications
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Obtains or assists in the collection of specimens for diagnostic or waived tests. Ensures accuracy of all labels and timely transfer of specimen.
Assists patients with activities of daily living to include eating and drinking, bathing, shaving, oral care, grooming, and elimination. Changes bed linens as needed.
Serves as Monitor/Telemetry Tech for the unit as needed.
Engages in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.
