Responsible for calculating and entry of individual patients' dialysis machine programming for Ultrafiltration (UF) goal; treatment time; and UF modeling as prescribed.
Responsible for ensuring appropriate safety alarms are enabled, including Narrow Venous Limits, (NVL) 160.
Record accurate and timely information regarding vital signs and treatment parameters onto the Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet with initial identification
Responsible for accurate documentation of information related to patient treatment including completion of Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet and, if applicable, progress notes.
Report any significant information and/or change in patient condition directly to the registered nurse or supervisor.

Concerto is seeking a PRN Dialysis Technician to join its team! The PRN Dialysis Technician functions as part of the hemodialysis health care team in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients. Works under the supervision of a licensed nurse in accordance with Concerto's policies, procedures, and training and in compliance with regulations set for by state and federal agencies.
What Will You Do?
1. Direct PatientCare
Provides hands-on care to assigned patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse, including initiating and discontinuing dialysis treatments per prescribed orders.
2. Vital Signs & Monitoring
Obtains and documents pre- and post-treatment vitals, weight, and vascular access assessments, reporting any unusual findings to the nurse.
3. Dialysis Machine Operation
Sets up, operates, and performs safety checks on hemodialysis machines; administers heparin as permitted by state law.
4. Documentation & Lab Work
Accurately documents patient treatment details and prepares laboratory specimens as prescribed.
5. Customer Service & Environment
Delivers excellent service to patients, families, and staff, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

As a PatientCare Tech at MercyOne, you will be supports the professional clinical staff by providing direct patientcare and performing studies and tests as assigned. These duties may vary by shift or may be unit-specific.
Schedule:
* 12-hour shifts; nights 7:45 PM - 7:15 AM; rotating weekends and holidays
General Requirements:
* Delivers assigned patientcare and treatment as delegated by an RN or LPN.
* Performs or assistspatients with activities including personal hygiene, bathing, ambulation, transporting, range of motion exercises, dressing/undressing, feeding, changing bandages, elimination needs, and emptying drainage devices.
* Responds to patient calls and anticipates patient needs. Assures patient safety and comfort through use of safe patient handling techniques, regular rounding, environmental maintenance, equipment maintenance, and other appropriate safety measures.
* Calculates intake and output (excluding IVs). Measures vital signs. Performs bedside blood glucose testing. Makes entries to patient health records as consistent with scope of job duties and in compliance with company policy.
* Initiates or assists with emergency support measures (i.e., cardiopulmonary resuscitation, protecting patient from injury).
* Performs post-mortem care.
* Sets up equipment and supplies for procedures. Prepares patients and rooms for procedures, admissions, and transfers. Discharges patients from system.
* Observes and reports information regarding any change in physical/mental condition, behavior, or status of the patient to the nurse.
* Collects and labels specimens.
* Sets up, operates, and maintains selected pieces of equipment.
Minimum Qualification:
* Must be 16 years of age.
* Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter - Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire.
* American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certified within six (6) weeks of hire.

The PatientCare Technician under direct supervision, assists the members of the nursing team in provision of multiple types of patientcare in in-patient and out-patientcare areas. Their work requires familiarity with a wide variety of nursing procedures used in delivering patientcare. This position's main location will be our main campus clinic but may travel too other surrounding clinics to provide support within a 2-hour radius as needed.

Position Responsibilities
Responsible for facilitating the smooth flow of patients through the clinic through interaction with patients, families, and staff.
Assist in clinic with physical examination of patient and related treatments, including but not limited to allergies and immunizations and vital sign assessment (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature).
Manage internal and external medical records to ensure that accurate and complete data is available for patient appointments.
Perform routine laboratory tests such as urinalysis and blood work, does electrocardiograms and x-ray work as needed.
Perform related clerical tasks including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and providing information to other departments.
Partner with nursing staff to ensure timely, thorough clinic work up and follow up including calls to patients (post procedure, normal test results, fasting, appointment reminders, etc.), preparation of patient education materials and packets, monitoring of fax machine and distribution of faxes, obtain outside records/labs.
Independently obtain and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
Carries out medical asepsis when performing skills and tasks including but not limited to phlebotomy, peripheral IV removal, & Foley catheter removal and cares for patients who are medically isolated.
Performs simple diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as enemas, preoperative preparation of the skin, dressing changes, collecting specimens, applying binders, braces, etc.
Performs special duties as taught and directed by the nurse in charge including but not limited to phlebotomy, ECG lead/12 lead placement, and brace/pin site cares.
Assists with patient admission, transfers, and discharges.
Directly provides for patients' personal hygiene and comfort.
Turns, positions, and ambulates patients.
Transports patients, equipment, specimens, and supplies.
Feeds patients, serves drinking water and nourishments, and records patients' intake.
Assistspatients with bedpans and urinals and records output.
Participates in nursing care conferences; reports pertinent patient information and incidents to nurse in charge.
Provides for patient comfort measures through social interactions.
Shares responsibility for preparation, proper use and care of equipment and supplies, and for neatness and cleanliness of unit.
May assemble and maintain equipment and supplies in preparation for various diagnostic or treatment procedures performed by physicians or nurse.
Cleans areas per designated guidelines and standards demonstrating proper use of approved disinfectants, cleaning products, and care of the housekeeping equipment.
Stock and supply patient rooms and nursing units.
Perform other duties as assigned.

* Maintains competency in administering medications via the following routes: IM, SQ, ID, oral, inhalation, ocular, optic, topical, sublingual, and nasal.
