WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
The Qualified (Certified) Medication Aide (QMA or CMA) assists with administering medications to residents as directed by the physician, nurse supervisor, and Director of Nursing (DON). Additionally, this role assists residents with activities of daily living.
Key Responsibilities
The Qualified (Certified) Medication Aide sets up, administers, and records certain prescribed medications for residents in the facility under the supervision of a licensed nurse and as allowed by State regulatory agencies.
Practice the five rights of medication administration within the scope of your role.
Assist residents with activities of daily living as needed.
Properly label, store, receive and destroy medication per company policy.
Perform medication charting as directed by the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
Qualifications

* Participate in addition of chemicals; including coolants, greases, oils, lubricants, cleaners and biocides as directed by site staff. Perform and interpret bio-stick dip tests of all machine sumps and central systems, with limited guidance.
* Inspect, monitor and maintain coolant filters, washers, paint systems, air handling systems, etc. for sump changes and cleaning, as required to keep fluids within proper limits under limited direction of Site Manager or Program Manager.
* Make addition of chemicals; including coolants, greases, oils, lubricants, cleaners and biocides to fluid systems.
* Report and interpret all results and usage on a daily basis, via report generation; initiates corrective action.
* Properly maintains tools and utility equipment such as pumps, sump suckers, coolant dispensers, etc. in a safe and efficient manner.

Review images to ensure diagnostic quality, and ensure proper labeling and documentation for each test performed.
Assist physicians and radiologists by providing preliminary image analysis, noting any abnormalities or relevant findings.
Maintain accurate patient records, including patient history, test results, and imaging reports, in compliance with hospital or facility protocols.
Equipment Maintenance and Safety:
Perform routine maintenance and calibration of nuclear medicine imaging equipment, ensuring proper function and safety.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to imaging equipment or radiopharmaceuticals.
Ensure that all equipment and facilities meet safety standards, particularly in handling radioactive materials, to minimize risk to both patients and staff.
Follow infection control and radiation safety protocols to protect both patients and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure.
Radiation Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety and regulatory guidelines regarding the use of radioactive substances, ensuring patient and staff safety at all times.
Monitor and manage radiation exposure to patients, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies such as the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Radiation Safety Office (RSO).
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety standards and best practices in radiation protection.
Collaboration with Healthcare Team:
Work closely with nuclear medicine physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the proper execution of imaging procedures.
Communicate effectively with the medical team to discuss patient conditions and help interpret diagnostic images.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review cases, discuss treatment plans, and provide input based on imaging results.
Patient Care and Follow-up:
Provide post-procedure care instructions to patients, including guidance on hydration or any side effects related to the radiopharmaceutical.
Monitor patients during recovery and assist with any immediate medical concerns following the procedure.
Offer information to patients regarding any follow-up imaging or treatment required based on their results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Physical/ Mental Demands:

The position requires regular lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. The position also requires the ability to answer telephone calls, transfer calls and work on the computer.
Environmental/ Working Conditions:
Work will be completed in a smoke-free, climate controlled medical office with the usual hazards of airborne germs, chemical, various odors, blood, and other hazardous waste products. Office spaces may include the use of parking lot within one half mile o the working location and may include the need to utilize stairs to access the working location. This position may require travel to other office locations.
