Requirements

3. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred
4. Five (5) years experience as a peri-operative RN experience in which the incumbent functioned at least five (5) years as a scrub or circulating nurse is required.
5. Successful completion of an approve AORN RNFA program including a supervised clinical component completion is required.
6. Bachelor's degree and current RNFA certification is preferred
7. RN First Assistant applications must be approved by the Medical Staff office for allied health personnel.
8. Successful completion of an annual review performed by the surgeon sponsor is required to maintain privileges and an annual employee performance review by designated Surgical Services Leadership is required.
9. Special skills required of the Registered Nurse include the ability to communicate effectively with patients, family, and health care personnel.
10. Other skills required include the ability to handle varying issues in the midst of any situation and work effectively individually and as a member of a team within a stress producing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
Effectively communicates with participants, families, staff and other agencies and departments.
Drives a specially equipped van to deliver physically limited persons to varied destinations.
Assures wheelchair lifts and tie down equipment are properly operated and participants are delivered to appointments in a timely manner.
Follows established schedules, adjusts schedules to meet unanticipated changes, and determines the safest and most efficient pick-up and delivery routes.
Assists passengers on and off the van in a safe and courteous manner. Will work with medical equipment and manage other emergencies that may arise.
Participates as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team. Attends staff meetings and takes part in participant care planning. Communicates any changes in participant condition to team members.
Observes each participant for any change in physical, mental, emotional and social functioning and shall report such changes to the licensed nurse.
Inspects van and maintains it in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
The driver must exhibit exceptional customer service to patients, families, case managers, facilities, physicians, and nurses.
Completes driver log each time the vehicle is used. Keep an accurate record of all facility transports, mileage and times. Provides facility administrator with completed logs.
Inspects the company vehicle monthly using the Vehicle Maintenance Log.
