and keeping mouth clean.
8. Be alert to resident's comforts and needs. Answer their requests promptly and report
to nurse any needs that exceed your ability.
9. Knocks before entering a resident's room and requests permission to enter room.
10. Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations.
11. Promotes positive public relations with resident, family members and guests.
12. Observe all residents and report anything unusual or abnormal to Charge Nurse. Ability to

Job Summary
Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility, and provide services that include helping patients make menu selections, assemble, deliver and pick-up their meal trays. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Complies with regulator agency standards, including federal, state and JCAHO. Adhere to facility confidentiality and the patient's rights policy as outlined in the facility's Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) policies and procedures.
Follows Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines when handling food, cleaning work stations and breaking down patient tray line.
Follows facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
Assist dietitians, such as helping monitor patients who cannot eat food through their mouth, are on liquid diets or have a specific calorie count to manage.
Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel in a timely manner, following department procedures.
Complete all daily, weekly or monthly reports as outlined in the Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.

Major Responsibilities and Duties
Obtaining and recording patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Coordinating the daily administrative activities, including scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and patient medical record maintenance.
Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assisting practitioners with medical procedures and other patientcare.
Delivering compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
Preparing and administering medications for patients as directed by physicians.
Welcomes patients by greeting them in person or on the telephone and answering inquiries.
Answer phone calls and respond to emails.
Assists ill or distraught patients as necessary. Communicates with family members when necessary for transportation.
Maintains reception area in a neat and orderly condition.
Participates in the medical office emergency routine when required. Summons ambulance or EMS or assists other staff members as needed.
Works with a team of doctors, practitioners, and nurses to provide quality patientcare.
Assists with routine blood work and blood draws.
Assist with setting up flu vaccine clinics and routine blood work draws at PSJA schools for employees and students covered by PSJA insurance.
Determine who is covered for services by communicating with PSJA Employee Benefits.
Communicates concerns with Health Services Director.
An understanding of all pertinent federal and state regulations, including HIPPA and OSHA.
