Job Description
Essential Functions:
As a member of the multidisciplinary team the nursing assistant contributes valuable assessment in put into the residents care planning process.
Assesses and provides direct resident care needs to residents with supervised personal/rehabilitative cares as outlined in their individualized care plan to assist with maintaining or improving functional abilities, comfort, independence and safety.
Completes documentation accurately and in a timely manner according to policies, procedures, and regulations.

As a Clinical Assistant or Medical Assistant, you will work collaboratively both under supervision and independently to provide direct and indirect patientcare in the clinic setting. Job Description
Essential Functions:
The Assistant properly prepares the examination and treatment areas per clinic standards.
Completes patient rooming procedures to include vital signs, data collection and other identified components specific to the clinic setting and within outlined Scope of Responsibilities.
Assists with Point of Care laboratory testing following successful competency training.
Ensures documentation in the patient record is accurate, clear, and concise within outlined Scope of Responsibilities.
Completes all assigned clerical activities and supply maintenance/ordering as directed.
Assists with scheduling follow up care as ordered/directed.
Functions within the documented Monument Health Scope of Responsibilities.
All other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements
Required:
Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Professional Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer.
Regarding BLS certification: The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.
Preferred:
Education - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies; Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant University or accredited training program
Certification - Medical Assistant-Certified (MA) by one of the listed certifying bodies; Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Professional Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) within 60 days of hire
Any Medial Assistant hired between July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2024 may be granted 6 months to obtain national certification.
Any Medical Assistant hired after July 1, 2024 must hold one of the following national certifications upon hire:
• American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
• American Medical Technologists (AMT)
• National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
• American Medical Certification Association (AMCA)
Physical Requirements:
Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE:
Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations.
Ensure the well-being and protection of every resident through the delivery of high-quality care.

Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent personal or health information concerning residents and staff.
Assist residents by providing snacks and supplements, encouraging water intake, and assisting with feeding as trained and as needed.
Answer pendant system/call lights promptly to determine and assist with residents' needs.
Coordinates with nursing staff to assist with resident care and medications.
Document the outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, and activity and dietary services.
Communicates changing health conditions, medication follow-up, and care-related concerns/responses to the nursing leadership team.
Performs resident care responsibilities in a manner conducive to resident's safety and comfort consistent with Peaceful Pines Senior Living Policies and Procedures as well as state/federal guidelines and regulations.
Adhere to OSHA and CDC guidelines for infection-control techniques.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensed in the state of South Dakota as a Medication Aide.
On-the-job training provided if you are not currently licensed.
