* Responsible for all aspects of occupational therapy service delivery provided under a physician approved plan of care.
Ensures the plan of care addresses all problems identified in the assessment or documents rationale if identified problems are not addressed in the plan of care.
Accountable for the safety and effectiveness of the occupational therapy service delivery process.
Completes documentation timely and accurately.
Supervises home health aide when RN is not active in the case.

Qualifications
* Current license to practice occupational therapy specific to the state you are assigned to work.
Graduate of an occupational therapy program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. (AOTA), or successor organizations of ACOTE
Eligible to take, or has successfully completed, the entry-level certification examination for occupational therapists developed and administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc. (NBCOT).
One year related occupational therapy experience to ensure knowledge and skills are sufficient to safely provide occupational therapy services to patients.
If less than one (1) year experience, then approval from regional clinical leaders required as well as appropriate mentoring and/or residency program established.

How you will change lives
As a PatientCare Technician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team providing care and delegated activities of treatment to patients. The PCT will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN) for patients with renal failure.
What you'll be doing
Patientcare. You will work directly with patients to provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment. Responsibilities include gathering patient stats before and after treatment, initiating treatment, monitoring patients during treatment, terminating treatment, and collecting patient blood samples per physician orders.
Technician Duties. You will ensure quality comes first by preparing machines for hemodialysis treatments, cleaning and disinfecting machines after treatment, and conducting machine safety checks and logging results for quality control, ensuring all protocols and regulations are followed.
Safety and Quality. You will use appropriate safety measures, including personal protective equipment. Working under the supervision of a Charge Nurse, you will adhere to all company policies, procedures, and state/federal laws and regulations. You will participate in all required staff meetings and continuing education offerings.
What we're looking for
High school graduate or equivalent.
Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients.
Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is a plus.
Must be comfortable mixing acids and bicarbonate according to protocol.
Ability to distinguish all primary colors.
Other requirements
Successful completion of USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, including demonstrated competency; this includes successful completion of USRC training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis within 8 weeks of hire.
CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as required by the state.
PatientCare Technician certification must be obtained through a state certification program or national commercially available certification program within 18 months of hire date and maintained in good standing thereafter. Specific state requirements may be applicable and required.

What You'll Do
Perform vital signs, intake/output, glucose checks, and other point-of-care tasks; promptly report changes to the RN.
Assist with ADLs (hygiene, toileting, feeding), mobility/ambulation, fall-prevention rounding, and patient comfort.
Support admissions and discharges: orient patients/families, gather belongings, and reinforce RN-led education.
Obtain EKG and basic specimens (if trained/competency-validated); assist with equipment setup and simple troubleshooting.
Document care accurately in the EMR flowsheets and maintain clear, respectful communication with patients and the care team.
Keep rooms and common areas clean, stocked, and safe; perform quick room turnarounds and supply checks.

How you will change lives

What you'll be doing
Patientcare. You will work directly with patients to provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment. Technician Duties. You will ensure quality comes first by preparing machines for hemodialysis treatments, cleaning and disinfecting machines after treatment, and conducting machine safety checks and logging results for quality control, ensuring all protocols and regulations are followed.
Safety and Quality. You will use appropriate safety measures, including personal protective equipment. Working under the supervision of a Charge Nurse, you will adhere to all company policies, procedures, and state/federal laws and regulations. Job Summary/Purpose: The PatientCare Technician (PCT) reports to the Nurse Manager. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PCT performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patientcare and achieve desired outcomes.
Minimum Training and Education:
PatientCare Technician I: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
PatientCare Technician II: High school diploma/GED and ONE of the following requirements must be met.
* Associate or Bachelor's degree
* At least 1 year work experience in a .6 FTE PCT I position at MUSC CHS
* 1 year of experience in a healthcare facility
* Active enrollment in nursing school with completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an accredited institution
* Active enrollment in a healthcare related field from an accredited institution
* Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire. Thereafter, must maintain Current Basic Life Support (BLS), either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance.
