About You As a Vet Tech, you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing comprehensive care throughout their journey. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to surgery assistance, to support services including admitting and discharging patients. Role Responsibilities: * Maintain a training program that is individually designed for each ER staff member * Update Protocols and SOP's, maintain files for ease of access to the Emergency staff * Develop a professional, compassionate, courteous and efficient team * Maintain personnel files (make sure everyone attends staff meetings, CE, log call-ins) * Provide guidance to ensure coverage for planned and unplanned absences * Coordinate and review emergency staff schedules * Perform daily, weekly, monthly and yearly maintenance on all hospital equipment ie. syringe pumps, IV pumps, blood transfusion pumps, monitoring devices * Function as the emergency advocate/liaison and report to the Technician Manager, Medical Director and Practice Manager * Attend biweekly lead technician meetings * Train, schedule and lead a nursing staff to assure effective and consistent case management from receiving through discharge * Ensure a collaborative approach, personal integrity, excellent interpersonal skills, and a dedication to continuous learning and improvement * Ensure that proper protocols are followed * Encourage career development and employee satisfaction through more enthusiastic use of employee continuing education benefit * Meet with Practice Manager at regular intervals, to access the need or opportunities for performance improvement in all staff * Assist the Practice Manager with 90-day reviews as well as yearly reviews * And other duties assigned by the Medical Director and/or Practice Manager.
