Job Summary:
The Surgical Technologist Labor/Delivery functions under the direction of the registered professional nurse. Assists the health care team in providing safe, age appropriate and culturally aware patientcare. Duties include, but are not limited to, preparation of the operative suite and surgical field to ensure a safe patientcare environment including gathering required instruments and supplies and serving as surgical assistant. Other duties as assigned including, but not limited to stocking LDR's and OR's, assisting providers and nurses in vaginal deliveries, obtain weights, measurements, and infant footprints. Also, ensure that the unit is compliant with Joint Commission standards at all times.

Monitor psychotropic med use is congruent with physician orders and ensure Resident behaviors warrant the use of medication
Regularly review, follow, and adhere to Resident care plans

The Monitor Technician functions under the direction of the Nurse Manager to facilitate safe, age appropriate and culturally aware patientcare by observing cardiac monitors to ensure recognition of arrhythmias. Cardiac monitor technicians are responsible for watching patients' heart rates and /or pulse oximetry and reporting important changes to the nursing staff; they often use equipment that tracks several patients simultaneously. They clean and maintain equipment and ensure batteries are charged and installed properly. Additional duties may include clerical and receptionist functions, retrieval of data, preparing and maintaining patient charts, verifying current telemetry orders in an accurate and timely manner, and serving as the pivotal communication source to the clinical staff.

* Recognizes cardiac arrhythmias and reports promptly
* Records telemetry strips each shift and as changes or events are noted. Ensures 12 hour strips are printed and distributed to the units per policy

Job Summary
* Provides continuous surveillance of cardiac telemetry monitors to identify and report significant changes in cardiac rhythms. Supports patient safety and clinical communication in centralized monitoring environments.
Essential Functions
* Continuously observe and interpret cardiac rhythms from telemetry monitors
* Record rhythm strips at designated intervals and notify nursing staff of changes
* Maintain monitor station cleanliness and function; report equipment issues
* Document rhythm interpretations and maintain accurate logbooks
* Communicate clearly and promptly with unit nursing staff
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations
* Ability to interpret dysrhythmias accurately
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
* Effective verbal and written communication
* Able to multitask and respond calmly in emergencies
* Proficient in EMR systems and basic computer functions
Qualifications
Education
* High School Diploma or GED preferred
Licenses/Certifications
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
Experience
* No prior experience required
* Completion of orientation and dysrhythmia interpretation competency is required
