Charts and reports information as appropriate to RN and/or other treatment team members. After being delegated, obtains patient's Vital Signs per provider's orders, charts the findings and reports to the RN any changes or abnormalities. Attends change of shift report and participates in plan of care discussion for patients during that shift. Chart patient behavior and responses to treatment as required, as well as charting on specific incidents in the patient progress notes. Completes periodic unit checks of windows, locked doors, smoke detectors, and other safety hazards and/or conditions and reports findings to RN. Works with the Treatment Team in transitioning patients out of the facility by having knowledge of where the patient is in the transition process using effective communication to encourage and reassure the patient throughout this process. Responsible for maintaining a clean unit environment utilizing the Infection Control Policy by cleaning unit bathrooms, showers, hallway, unit kitchen as well as any other areas or items that may need cleaned. Stocks towels, wash cloths, spoons, cups, gloves, med cups, crackers, juice, Boost, paper towels, toilet paper, and refills soap containers. Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or its equivalent Experience working with mental health patients preferred. Basic Computer Skills Ability to work as part of a team and handle multiple task safely and effectively. Good communication skills, including the ability to communicate sensitive information. High tolerance for working under pressure and handling critical situations with a cool head. 2 -3 years' experience in behavioral health setting, preferred. Certification in NAPPI training (Non-Abusive Psychological and Physical Intervention) within 6 months of hire, required.

A Med Tech promotes the physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing of each resident and strives to maintain the residents at their maximum level of self-care and independence. The goal of quality resident care is to enable each resident, where possible, to return to the highest level of functioning, to attain a new stage of independence, or at least prevent regression. An active approach to resident care will be taken and not just passive maintenance. Essential Responsibility Provide direct resident care services including medicine distribution to residents. Follow an individualized plan of care for all residents. Perform resident assessments as required by the state standards/regulations and facility policy, under the direction of the Manager of Assisted Living and Director of Health Services. Observe residents for change in condition and report any changes immediately to the supervisor and/or the Director of Health Services. Provide timely interventions to change of conditions and share this with care staff and family as instructed.
