Position Summary:
Perform first level of on-site technical, data recording and assessment within the manufacturing environment of Quaker Houghton customers. Follows standard procedures and has readily available supervision or management where necessary to provide a high standard of Fluidcare support.
Job Accountabilities:
* Participate in addition of chemicals, including coolants, greases, oils, lubricants, cleaners and biocides as directed by site staff. Perform bio-stick dip tests of all machine sumps and central systems.
* Assist in the maintenance of coolant filters, washers, paint systems, pumps, air handling systems, etc. for sump changes and cleaning, as required to keep fluids within proper limits.
* Measure and record coolant parameters and maintain lubrication schedules to ensure parameters are met to maintain the highest coolant conditions. This may involve the dropping and cleaning of tanks when required.
* Liaise directly with the customer so that changes in coolant parameters are highlighted and can then be acted upon and enter results in appropriate databases. Prepare detailed shift reports.
* Assist in routine maintenance on customer's equipment and fluid systems including product additions, filter changes, emptying gondolas, sump cleaning, etc. as directed.
* Assist in disposal of contaminated articles (i.e. pails, gloves, samples, etc.) in accordance with prescribed measures, including waste management and recycling initiatives
* Assist in maintaining and calibrating all laboratory equipment, such as scales, pH meters, glassware, incubators, etc. in accordance with site control plan.
* Assist in properly maintaining tools and utility equipment such as pumps, sump suckers, coolant dispensers, etc. in a safe and efficient manner.
* Where appropriate: Cut-up, mount and prepare parts for metallurgical testing. Surface etching of parts for analysis. Measurement and metallurgical determinations consisting of hardness and microstructure analysis
* Supports site staff general organization initiatives (inventory, storage rooms, labeling, etc.)
* May work in manufacturing environment with union associates.
* Interact with customer's production and technical personnel and other suppliers.
* May be required to operate hand tools, shop tools and equipment. May be required to operate industrial equipment, such as fork trucks, sump suckers, power washers, tuggers, etc.
* May require working flexible hours.
* Carries out other duties as directed. Will have tasks specifically related to quality control, such as engine part cleanliness testing. Provide other specifically agreed Fluidcare services as and when required by the Site Manager and/or Lead Technician - this may include operating a fork truck, recycling equipment, etc.
* Must be able to safely work in a variety of potentially hazardous situations while adhering to Quaker Houghton's Life Saving Rules.
Work Environment:
* Work in a manufacturing environment; may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. May occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock and trip and slip hazards. The noise level in the manufacturing environment is loud.

Education, Experience, Skills & Competencies:
Education

Record accurate and timely information regarding vital signs and treatment parameters onto the Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet with initial identification.
Responsible for accurate documentation of information related to patient treatment including completion of Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet and, if applicable, progress notes.
Report any significant information and/or change in patient condition directly to the nurse supervisor.
Observe patient, and conduct machine safety checks according to facility policy. Report any change or unusual findings to the nurse supervisor.
Perform and document any intervention for unusual patient status and document patients' response to intervention.
Evaluate patients' vascular access during treatment including arterial and venous monitoring pressures, provide appropriate intervention as needed, document and report any unusual findings to the nurse supervisor.
Obtain all prescribed laboratory testing and prepare specimens for collection.
MAINTENANCE/TECHNICAL:
Maintain environmental integrity and aesthetics - ensure all areas are safe and clean.
Clean and disinfect dialysis machine surface, chair, equipment, and surrounding area between treatments according to facility policy.
Conduct all tasks necessary for preparation for dialysis treatment and document where appropriate.
Perform all required pretreatment dialysis machine alarm testing including Pressure Holding (PHT).
Initiate Solution Delivery System (SDS) system.
Ensure that all blood spills are immediately cleaned with appropriate disinfectant according to facility policy.
Prepare, organize, and efficiently utilize supplies and equipment to prevent wastage.
CLERICAL & ADMINISTRATIVE:
Complete and document ongoing participation in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.
Enters all treatment data into the designated clinical application accurately and in a timely manner.
Review treatment sheets for completeness, ensure nursing signatures are documented, and ensure omitted entries are completed or corrected where appropriate.
Prepare initial patient chart for admission and compile paperwork for appropriate placement in chart.
Prepare lab requisitions for prescribed or stat Lab specimens according to laboratory destination.
Collect, label, appropriately prepare and store lab samples according required laboratory specifications.

Obtains blood samples and culture specimens as ordered and performs routine tests.
Administers oxygen as necessary by cannula or mask under direction of the nurse.
Participates in CPR as needed.
Washes machines, station area and chairs according to established procedures after each patient treatment.
Prepares daily dialysis logs and set-ups for each shift of patients as directed.
Prepares, records and files laboratory reports as directed.
Stocks and orders necessary blood work supplies, e.g., blood tubes, requisitions and envelopes as directed.
Helps to maintain a neat and clean environment.
Performs all tasks necessary for the safe, smooth, and efficient operation of the unit - this may include, but is not limited to, water checks, opening and closing of the unit, mixing bicarbonate and acid, bath distribution, maintenance of the water treatment system and assisting with stocking of supplies.
Participates in the IDT and QAPI committee and attend meetings as needed and/or requested.

What Youll Do
* As a Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT), you will be utilizing your technical, and critical thinking skills daily.
* You will be responsible for performing and monitoring the actual dialysis treatment under the supervision of the Registered Nurse within the correctional community.

As in any setting, this involves teamwork and coordinating care with the healthcare team. In addition to the healthcare team, you are also required to maintain strong relationships, regular communication, and visibility with clients (site Managed Healthcare, DOC/BOP, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
* High School Diploma or Equivalent
* Nationally recognized Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician certification (CCHT) or equivalent
* Current CPR certification
* One year of clinical dialysis experience required
Required Skills and Competencies
* Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and satisfactorily communicate in English.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Understands basic renal function and the consequences of renal failure.
* Demonstrates basic knowledge of treatment modalities available to ESRD patients.
* Understands and performs the hemodialysis procedure according to Rendevor Dialysis policies and procedures.
* Ensures that all safety checks are completed before dialysis is initiated.
* Monitors and records dialysis treatment parameters such as vital signs, weight changes, etc. and communicates information to licensed personnel.
* Demonstrates an understanding of sterile technique.
* Knows and follows all Rendevor Dialysis policies and procedures for infection control and understands the hazards associated with failing to follow those procedures.
* Performs thorough patient assessments, as evidenced by documentation and feedback to the licensed personnel.
* Promotes the education of patients and their understanding of their disease and its treatment.
* Obtains blood samples and culture specimens as ordered and performs routine tests.
* Administers oxygen as necessary by cannula or mask under direction of the nurse.
* Participates in CPR as needed.
* Washes machines, station area and chairs according to established procedures after each patient treatment.
* Prepares daily dialysis logs and set-ups for each shift of patients as directed.
* Prepares, records and files laboratory reports as directed.
* Stocks and orders necessary blood work supplies, e.g., blood tubes, requisitions and envelopes as directed.
* Helps to maintain a neat and clean environment.
* Performs all tasks necessary for the safe, smooth, and efficient operation of the unit this may include, but is not limited to, water checks, opening and closing of the unit, mixing bicarbonate and acid, bath distribution, maintenance of the water treatment system and assisting with stocking of supplies.
* Participates in the IDT and QAPI committee and attend meetings as needed and/or requested.
* Identifies and reports concerns, issues, and opportunities for improvement when identified.
* Participates in performance improvement projects within licensure, certification, and scope of practice.
* Participates in annual QAPI training and other continuing education, as assigned, and required.
* Provides suggestions for alternate strategies for indicators not improving.
* Assists in building and maintaining a facility/clinic culture of safety and quality.
* Reports errors and near misses so that steps can be taken to prevent recurrence.
* Reports any negative feedback, complaints, grievances from other staff members, patients, and families.
* Uses evidence-based guidelines and proper infection control practices.
* Contributes to harmonious and constructive working relationships with all staff members to promote a positive and productive atmosphere.
* Ensures the confidentiality of patient, employee, and company information.

Supervision
This position will report to the Unit Leader.
Background Check
The Department of Corrections/Federal Bureau of Prisons and all applicable law require a comprehensive background check for all employees working in this position. This background check will be conducted after an offer, if any, is made.
Work Environment:
This role exists in a hospital or in the medical unit of a post-acute or correctional facility. This role may include exposure to chemicals and blood-borne pathogens. This role routinely involves the use of both medical and standard office equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
