Pay Rate: $21.00 an hour ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Respond to requests for medical assistance Assess medical situations, provide basic life support and advanced variances Perform drug and alcohol screenings Complete inventory review and inspect equipment Provide basic health services Assist with CPR and First Aid training KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Required Knowledge and Certification: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience Minnesota State Emergency Medical Technician License/Certificate 18 months experience actively working as an EMT Preferred Knowledge and Certification: Basic Life Support instructor for American Heart Association Required Skills: Accurate and detail-oriented Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills Required Abilities: Ability to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygiene Ability to serve both internal and external customers Ability to speak in a clear, concise and pleasant voice Ability to complete multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining a professional manner Ability to present materials to groups of people Ability to prepare complete, concise reports PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to walk and / or stand and sit for long periods throughout the day Must be willing to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel Must be able to reach and twist routinely Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinely Must have the ability to independently lift, drag or pull 110 pounds in short duration Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions Must have good eye hand coordination Must be able to work 12-hours shifts independently WORKING ENVIRONMENT Work is performed throughout the entire property (indoors and outdoors, including the Tribal Community) and may include flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke Must be able to work in cramped, tight quarters Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals
