This position performs x-ray procedures, limited to the scope of certification, by applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis at technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Demonstrates the ability to meet the needs and provide service to all age groups-infancy through geriatrics. Responsible for patient safety and well-being during examinations. Assists and instructs patients during examinations. Assists with clerical and other duties as assigned. Reports all equipment malfunctions. Cleans and inspects equipment prior to use.

At the Department of Developmental Services (Department) State-Operated Facilities Division (SOFD), we are always looking for innovating approaches to meet evolving needs of our staff and consumers. The Stabilization Training Assistance Re-Integration (STAR) homes are staffed 24/7 and provide individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities experiencing an acute crisis, to live and learn in an environment that will enable them to successfully return home or transition to less restrictive living settings in the community. The staff within the home strive to empower individuals through person centered approaches to lead self-determined lives. STAR currently provides assistance to adolescents (11-17 years old) and adults (18 years of age and older) who are receiving regional center services. The STAR homes are four to five bed homes in community settings (Vacaville, Springville, and Costa Mesa).

We are seeking individuals that will engage individuals with a wide range of interests, while modeling safe and healthy living behaviors in a home environment. The Psychiatric Technician (PT) provides general behavioral training and psychiatric nursing care to STAR consumers. The PT will perform on-site direct care, training, and participate in recreational activities with consumers. The PT will provide cross-training to the consumer's community home staff or family to maintain a continuity of care. PT will be responsible for maintaining credentials in required or a Psychiatric Technician license and attend required trainings.
Effective October 1, 2025, State employees are subject to a salary reduction of three percent in exchange for five hours per month of the Personal Leave Program.

Working Conditions
On-going interaction with consumers with developmental disabilities and/or severe psychiatric and behavioral conditions at STAR residence and community activities. Potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinical nursing environment. Work may include planned and scheduled travel with possible over-night stays. May be required to work mandatory overtime and/or at various sites as needed to meet staffing requirements, including extended hours and/or varying shifts.
Pursuant to California Government Code requirements, candidates must be residents of the State of California at the time of appointment.
This position requires lawful authorization to work in the United States. The Department does not sponsor employment visas for this position.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance, perform and be competent in self-defense and hands-on intervention training, including two-person wall containment with resistive consumers, and complete all required trainings

Actively participate in infection control, risk management and patient education activities
Guide new patients through 120-day education plan
Obtain and record patient vital signs and machine readings during treatment
Role under RN supervision
Set up and break down dialysis blood system for treatment
Insert and remove patient access needles

Follows re-fill process for medications.

Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse and respiration rates.

The Medication Technician is responsible for supervising and assisting in the administration of medications to residents as ordered and in accordance with established nursing standards, policies, procedures, and practices of the company. In addition, the Medication Technician will provide direct personal care, encourage residents to participate in activities, and work with housekeepers and maintenance staff in accordance with the company s mission, vision, and values.

Qualifications:

Physician Eyecare Group Clinical Duties
* The Physician Eyecare Group (PEG) provides all clinical services in each store, and PEG doctors provide supervision, direction and guidance to the Doctors Technicians regarding but not limited to Diagnostic Pre-Testing, and Digital Refraction, Contact Lens care and executing all PEG clinical standards.
* Meet all training guidelines, procedures, protocols, and certification requirements and clinical standards developed by the Physician Eyecare Group.
* The role will also require this person to communicate effectively with the supervising PEG physician for all direction and guidance with regards to patientcare within their store.
* Each Doctor Technician should seek opportunities to enhance the patient's clinical experience.
* Each Doctor Technician must satisfy all the Physician Eyecare group criteria to ensure proper clinical care.
* Each Doctor Technician may be directed to support clinical care by the local PEG doctor who is supervising must meet the requirements set forth by PEG, including the computerbased learning to ensure proper patient clinical care.
* Required to learn how to utilize local mode as a tool to enhance overall patient experience and perform when necessary, with supervision from the PEG doctors.
* Doctor Technicians must provide proper insertion and removal of contact lenses for new and existing contact lens wearers.
