Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

You will use crisis de-escalation skills to assist with unregulated clients to ensure client and staff safety.
You will perform client registration into the appropriate behavioral health services, including crisis and urgent psych, within the ACS network. You will refer clients who appear to be intoxicated or in substance withdrawal to a SUD specialist to assess for appropriate level of care. You will also serve as the contact point, advocate, and informational resource for clients, treatment team, family/caregiver(s), and community resources. This position is 100% in-person.
Some of What You Will Do:
* Welcome clients to the Clinic and assess client needs.
* Complete client registration and program enrollment(s).
* Maintain thorough, accurate and timely documentation of the provision of services, assessments, evaluations, and progress toward the completion of client's episode of care goals consistent with clinical and administrative policies and procedures.
* Complete bed searches and assist with placement in higher level of care when needed.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Patient Related
Education:
Assist other health care members in providing patient specific detailed education regarding adequacy measures where appropriate - Online Clearance Monitoring (OLC), Adequacy Monitoring Program (AMP), Urea Kinetic Modeling (UKM), and regarding disease process/access.
Treatment:
Welcome assigned patients and inquire as to their wellbeing since their last treatment.
Evaluate vascular access for patency, perform vascular access cannulation, and perform administration of heparin as delegated or as allowed by state law.
Obtain necessary pre and post treatment vital signs and weight and perform vascular access evaluation pre- treatment
Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders including blood flow (QB) and dialysate flow (QD).
Evaluate intradialytic problems and provide intervention as prescribed by physician order or as directed.
Monitor patients' response to dialysis therapy.
Obtain vital signs prior to reinfusion; perform all relevant functions necessary for the discontinuation of treatment - document.
Discontinue dialysis treatment according to established procedures and evaluate patient prior to termination of venous access - standing & sitting blood pressure
Obtain Hemostasis and apply appropriate dressings.
Evaluate the patient prior to discharge.
Perform and record Pre and Post dialysis evaluation, weight, and vital signs with initial identification
Responsible for calculating and entry of individual patients' dialysis machine programming for Ultrafiltration (UF) goal; treatment time; and UF modeling as prescribed.
Responsible for ensuring appropriate safety alarms are enabled, including Narrow Venous Limits, (NVL) 160.
Record accurate and timely information regarding vital signs and treatment parameters onto the Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet with initial identification
Responsible for accurate documentation of information related to patient treatment including completion of Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet and, if applicable, progress notes.
Report any significant information and/or change in patient condition directly to the registered nurse or supervisor.
Observe patient and conduct machine safety checks according to facility policy. Report any change or unusual findings to the registered nurse or supervisor.
Perform and document any intervention for unusual patient status and document patients' response to intervention.
Evaluate patients' vascular access during treatment including arterial and venous monitoring pressures, provide appropriate intervention as needed, document and report any unusual findings to the registered nurse or supervisor.
Obtain all prescribed laboratory testing and prepare specimens for collection.
Ensure that all blood spills are immediately cleaned with appropriate disinfectant according to facility policy.
Prepare, organize, and efficiently utilize supplies and equipment to prevent wastage.
Monitors patients performing self-care under the supervision of RN.
Staff Related
Assists in training of applicable direct patientcare staff on appropriate programs under the supervision of a nurse.
Education/Communication:
Follows all organization business policies, procedures and systems incorporated into training, including compliance with ethical business practices
Maintain environmental integrity and aesthetics - ensure all areas are safe and clean.
Clean and disinfect dialysis machine surface, chair, equipment, and surrounding area between treatments according to facility policy.
Conduct all tasks necessary for preparation for dialysis treatment and document where appropriate and perform all required pretreatment dialysis machine alarm testing including Pressure Holding (PHT).
Initiate Solution Delivery System (SDS) system.
RECORD KEEPING:
Complete and document ongoing participation in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.
Enters all treatment data into the designated clinical application in an accurate and timely manner.
Review treatment sheets for completeness, ensure nursing signatures are documented, and ensure
omitted entries are completed or corrected by appropriate staff.
Prepare initial patient chart for admission and compile paperwork for appropriate placement in chart.
Prepare/print lab requisitions for prescribed or stat Lab specimens according to laboratory destination.
Collect, label, appropriately prepare and store lab samples according required laboratory specifications.
Ensure collection of lab specimens by appropriate lab courier.
INFECTION CONTROL:
Assists in collecting information for infection control audits.
Supports staff and patient Adherence to infection control practices.
Follows infection control Policies and Procedures
Participates in and reinforces infection control education of patients and families under the direction of the CM or designee as allowed by state law.
TRANSITIONAL CARE UNIT:
Follows all newly admitted patients through their first 4 weeks of dialysis and coordinating their transitional dialysis care
Reinforces all education and care related matters as it relates to the new patient as allowed by state law
Liaisons with appropriate FKC staff members to provide the best patient experience including making sure all disciplines are scheduled to see patient according to plan.
Assists in assuring patient understanding or home dialysis products, benefits of home and how home dialysis can work for them.
Sets and preforms a treatment on all machines used in the transitional care unit.
Assist in assuring patient understanding of treatment options including demonstration of the peritoneal dialysis set-up.
Assists with coordination of transition to patient's modality choice.
Assists with supply ordering and inventory for TCU

Here is What You Will Be Doing:
Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates individual patientcare within the scope of license.
Provides direct patientcare, including but not limited to, Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as assistance with bathing, eating, dressing, and walking patients.
Obtains vital signs and performs adult bedside blood glucose monitoring when appropriate and provides oxygen delivery as needed.
Transports patients and equipment as needed within the facility.
Monitors patient activities and condition via direct observation or unit camera, documents patientcare and condition and reports any variances to the RN, collaborating to address needs of physicians, coworkers, management, and other departments. May provide 1:1 observation for patient safety as assigned.
Answers and relays patient calls, departmental communications, clerical tasks, data entry, reporting, and ordering supplies and other unit support as needed.
Performs electrocardiogram testing (EKG), wound cleansing and bandaging, specimen collection, and point of care testing within scope of license.
Responds to traumas and codes to assist with de-escalation, restraint placement, and performing compressions, ensuring patient and staff safety.
Changes bed linens and cleans and stocks supplies for patient rooms and department as necessary.
Participates in shift report to receive hand-off information from primary nursing staff, including reason(s) for requiring additional observation, appropriate interventions, ADLs for the shift, and any other pertinent information relevant to the care of the patient.

14 Days: Cheyenne Regional AHA RQI within fourteen (14) calendar days of start date
90 Days (one of the following must be obtained within ninety (90) days of start date):
Current Wyoming Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license from Wyoming State Board of Nursing
Current Wyoming Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification from the Wyoming Office of Emergency Services
Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT)
90 Days: Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification/training within ninety (90) days of start date
Nice to Have:
Experience working in a mental health facility

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.

About the role:

You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, management of donor adverse events, review of laboratory test results, and donor notification of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment. The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
How you will contribute
* You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
* You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
* You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
* You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
* You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
* You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
What you bring to Takeda:
* High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
* Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic
* Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
* Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
* Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
* Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
