The PCT will work under the direction of registered nurses to maintain a safe and clean environment, assist with basic patient needs, and monitor vital signs. Patient ratios are 1:5 for Step-Down/Progressive Care Unit (SD/PCU) and 1:6 if floated to acute care. The unit is divided by shifts: Morning Shift (MSD) cares for peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients, Evening Shift (CSD) cares for stroke patients, and Night Shift (SSD) cares for surgical patients. Floating may occur within the specialty or to Elmer as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment in patient rooms and service areas.
Assist licensed personnel with basic patientcare needs, including but not limited to personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding.
Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration.
Provide support for patients with tracheostomies, bariatric needs, nocturnal ventilation, and stroke-related care.
Respond to patient call lights and report any changes in patient condition to the registered nurse.
Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and ambulation as directed.
Perform basic clerical tasks, such as charting and inventory management.

Qualifications and Requirements
High school graduate or equivalent.

Demonstrated patient bedside experience, including taking vital signs and assisting with daily care.

Unit-Based Orientation: Scheduled by the manager following initial classes.

Short Description
A Nuclear Medicine Technologist II ability to operate a PETCT and SPECT/CT unit under the guidelines of the State of NJ.
Maintains additional licensure to perform CT portion of the Nuclear Medicine exam with either an X-ray license of a NJDEP Limited or a Fusion Imaging CT Technology license.

How you will change lives As a PatientCareTechnician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team providing care and delegated activities of treatment to patients. What you'll be doing
Patientcare. You will work directly with patients to provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment. Responsibilities include gathering patient stats before and after treatment, initiating treatment, monitoring patients during treatment, terminating treatment, and collecting patient blood samples per physician orders.
Technician Duties. You will ensure quality comes first by preparing machines for hemodialysis treatments, cleaning and disinfecting machines after treatment, and conducting machine safety checks and logging results for quality control, ensuring all protocols and regulations are followed.
Safety and Quality. You will use appropriate safety measures, including personal protective equipment. Working under the supervision of a Charge Nurse, you will adhere to all company policies, procedures, and state/federal laws and regulations. You will participate in all required staff meetings and continuing education offerings.

* High school graduate or equivalent.

Other requirements
* Successful completion of USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, including demonstrated competency; this includes successful completion of USRC training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis within 8 weeks of hire.
* CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as required by the state.
* PatientCareTechnician certification must be obtained through a state certification program or national commercially available certification program within 18 months of hire date and maintained in good standing thereafter. Specific state requirements may be applicable and required.
