Under limited direct supervision:
PatientCare Support (20%)
Assist in the care of patients undergoing anesthesia including: preparation of anesthesia equipment prior to the patient's arrival, placement of anesthesia monitors, ensuring the cleanliness of anesthesia equipment, ensuring availability of specialized anesthesia equipment and supplies and the set-up of medications and supplies where applicable
Continuously communicate with anesthesiologists, residents, CRNAs and anesthesia technologists to ensure their needs are met throughout the day
Assist clinicians with difficult intubations and the placement of central line catheters
Advanced Surgical Support (20%)
Operate the cell-saver machine, keep track of lab reports, and participate in cardiac, liver transplant, vascular, thoracic, trauma, and other advanced surgical cases

Work with other hospital units to ensure availability of specialized anesthesia equipment

Job Description
This position is for a Clinical Technician, preferably experienced in FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) and FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) Hair Transplant techniques. The technician will work with Rochester's leading hair transplant surgeons and experienced team of technicians and will take an active role in the procedures and patientcare for both men and women experiencing hair loss.
Responsibilities:
Set up, removal, and maintenance of instruments, machine, and microscopes for FUT and FUE procedures.
Perform blood drawings and assist the nurse practitioner with injectable treatments.
Estimates size of donor site using densitometer along with nurse and prepares site for surgery.
Assists physician with marking recipient site prior to placement.
Prepare and count grafts for placement manually using magnification and maintaining graft integrity throughout case.
Assist with placement of grafts according to the physician's plan.
Maintains knowledge of current literature regarding hair loss and treatments.
Educates patient throughout the procedure.
Ensures patient is comfortable during procedure.
Set-up equipment for graft placement.
Ensures counts are accurate.
Assist with application of dressing after procedure.
Assists with review and maintenance of hair logs, patient charts, and photos.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience as a Clinical Technician is preferred.
Experience in electronic assembly is beneficial.
Artistic background a plus.
Possess great, constant manual dexterity with speed and accuracy.
Able to maintain a high level of production and accuracy.
Must be able to function in a team environment.

Contributes to the care planning process by providing the charge nurse or other care planning staff with specific information and observations of the residents' needs and preferences.
· Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with the residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors promoting a homelike environment.
· Fully understands all aspects of residents' rights, including the right to be free of restraints and free of abuse. Is responsible for promptly reporting to the charge nurse or administrative staff incidents or evidence of resident abuse or violation of residents' rights.
· Performs all job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection control procedures, including thorough hand washing, use of disposable gloves where indicated and proper disposal of soiled materials. Also providing care that maintains each resident's skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears and other damage by changing incontinent residents, turning, repositioning immobile residents and by applying moisturizers to fragile skin and other areas.
