Job DescriptionSalary: Behavioral Health Technician (Recovery Support Specialist) Reports To: Recovery Supervisor Status: Full-Time, Part-Time, or Weekend Shifts Shifts: Day (2:00pm10:30pm) | Night (10:00pm6:30am) General Description The Behavioral Health Technician (Recovery Support Specialist) plays a key role in supporting clients throughout their treatment experience by providing structure, safety, engagement, and encouragement in alignment with evidence-based recovery practices. This position assists with daily living support, group facilitation, admissions processes, crisis response, documentation, and client transportation. Lead or support educational, recreational, and life-skills groups as assigned. Administer urine drug screens, breathalyzers, and collect basic vital signs in accordance with facility protocol. Respond to behavioral issues using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques; notify leadership of safety concerns. Complete incident reports in a timely and accurate manner. Transport clients to approved appointments, meetings, and community activities while maintaining safety and professionalism. Support housekeeping tasks, meal service routines, and general facility upkeep to ensure a clean and therapeutic environment. Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism, appropriate boundaries, and consistent communication. Maintain confidentiality in alignment with HIPAA and all organizational policies. Participate in team meetings and collaborate with medical, clinical, and leadership staff regarding client needs. Perform other duties as assigned by the Recovery Supervisor or leadership team. Qualifications Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Valid drivers license. Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days of hire. Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and ability to maintain firm boundaries. Ability to remain calm in crisis situations and respond to behavioral or medical concerns appropriately. Preferred: Certified Peer Recovery Coach (CPRC) or Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS). One (1) year of experience in behavioral health, residential treatment, or healthcare. Surgical technologists work under the supervision and delegatory authority of a surgeon to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive and non-invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Surgical technologists are experts in the theory and application of the principles of asepsis and sterile technique to combine the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation and tools and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. The surgical technologist in the first scrub role handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. The surgical technologist in the second scrub role assists the surgeon and/or surgical assistant at the table during the operative procedure by carrying out tasks including sponging, suctioning, cutting suture, holding retractors and manipulating the camera. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Preoperative Duties are as follows: 1. Donning OR attire and personal protective equipment (PPE). 2. Gathers, checks and opens supplies and equipment needed for the surgical procedure. 3. Performs the surgical scrub, and donning gown and gloves. 4. Sponges or suctions the operative site. 6. Applies electrocautery to clamps or forceps on bleeders. 7. Cuts suture material as directed by the surgeon. 8. Coordinates the camera or changes out robotic arms/instruments during robotic surgery as directed by the surgeon. 9. Maintains highest standard of sterile technique during the procedure. 10. Performs additional counts as necessary. 11. Prepares sterile dressings and/or immobilization devices. 12. Prepares and passes off specimen(s) as appropriate. 13. Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization. 14. Assists other members of the team with terminal cleaning of room. 15. Assists in prepping the OR for the next patient. 16. Participates in debriefing and quality improvement practices to ensure quality patient care ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Review the patient's chart, identifies patient, verifies surgery to be performed with consent forms, and brings the patient to the assigned operating room. 2. Assists with transferring patient to the operating room table. 3. Monitors the comfort of the patient and provides verbal and tactile reassurance to the patient. 4. Assists in maintaining normothermia. 5. Assists the anesthesia provider. 6. Assists with positioning the patient, using appropriate equipment and anatomical principles to avoid patient injury. 7. Applies the electrosurgical grounding pad. 8. Assists with applying tourniquets and monitors before the procedure begins. 9. Completes the patient skin prep prior to draping by the sterile surgical team. 10. Position Summary: Under direct supervision, assists the members of the nursing team in provision of multiple types of patient care in in-patient and out-patient care areas. Their work requires familiarity with a wide variety of nursing procedures used in delivering patient care. Position Responsibilities: Independently obtain and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure. Carries out medical asepsis when performing skills and tasks including but not limited to phlebotomy, peripheral IV removal, & Foley catheter removal and cares for patients who are medically isolated. Performs simple diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as enemas, preoperative preparation of the skin, dressing changes, collecting specimens, applying binders, braces, etc. Performs special duties as taught and directed by the nurse in charge including but not limited to phlebotomy, ECG lead/12 lead placement, and brace/pin site cares. Assists with patient admission, transfers, and discharges. Directly provides for patients' personal hygiene and comfort. Turns, positions and ambulates patients. Transports patients, equipment, specimens, and supplies. Feeds patients, serves drinking water and nourishments, and records patients' intake. Assists patients with bedpans and urinals and records output. Participates in nursing care conferences; reports pertinent patient information and incidents to nurse in charge. Provides for patient comfort measures through social interactions. Shares responsibility for preparation, proper use and care of equipment and supplies, and for neatness and cleanliness of unit. May assemble and maintain equipment and supplies in preparation for various diagnostic or treatment procedures performed by physicians or nurse. Cleans areas per designated guidelines and standards demonstrating proper use of approved disinfectants, cleaning products, and care of the housekeeping equipment. Stock and supply patient rooms and nursing units. Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: · Ability to follow oral and written instructions. · Ability to communicate effectively with others verbally, electronically, and in writing with patients, family members and health care staff. · Ability to maintain patient confidentiality. · Ability to provide care with regard to patient condition and age. · Knowledge of principles of sanitation and health hazards. · Ability to maintain effective working relationships. · Knowledge of medical terminology, instruments and supplies. · Ability to collect patient data and maintain accurate records. · Knowledge of keyboarding and computer data entry skills.
