Ensures that medication is delivered to persons authorized to handle medication according to AAMC policy. Maintains adequate levels of supplies and equipment on the unit. Transports patients in accordance with established safety policies. Processes written medical staff orders in accordance with established policy and procedure; communicating STAT or urgent orders to the care provider. Educational/Experience Requirements: • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited registered nursing program. • Preferred Experience: Successful completion of first year of the clinical nursing program. Packs all surgical totes for advanced procedures with supplies need to do the advance procedures. Maintains procedure log for all advance procedures and assists the nurse with tracking and follow up calls for 90 days after the procedure. Positions the patient for the procedures, establishes the sterile field, and drapes the patient for the procedures. Assists providers by passing instruments and supplies to them and holding retractors (as needed) during procedures. If assisting with procedures, adheres to all federal, state and nursing regulations and protocols including but not limited to patient safety procedures such as verification of patient identification prior to procedures Immediately prior to the start of any procedure in the procedure room, initiate/participates in a time-out and ensures correct patient, procedure, site and side, and that there are no additional concerns. Minimum of two (2) years of dialysis technician experience. Dialysis certification required. Physical Requirements & Work Environment This role requires passing Ishihara's Color Blindness test and involves frequent standing, bending, and occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. and moving equipment up to 200 lbs. (with assistance). It demands sustained mental, visual, and auditory focus. The work environment is typical of a healthcare facility, with climate control, moderate noise, and potential exposure to infectious materials.
