May include; vital signs, height, weight, blood pressure, EKG, specimen collection, phlebotomy, INR, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, etc.

8.1Sends/receives patient medical records and abstracts new patient records into EPIC.

Qualifications EDUCATION
A minimum of a high school diploma or GEDHave graduated from an approved, accredited, postsecondary medical assisting program, Nursing Assistant Program, or PatientCare Associate Training
EXPERIENCE
Preferred 12-18 months experience prior work as a Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, or PatientCare Associate, preferably in an outpatient clinical setting or relevant patientcare environment. Should have clinical competency.
LICENSURE
Preferred current medical assisting credential (certifications or registration) acceptable to, and recognized by, the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patient, families, peers, and interdisciplinary team. The individual in this role is responsible for providing sheltering that is conducive to the behavioral and medical health of resident animals. Care & Enrichment Technicians ensure a safe, healthy, clean, and enriched environment, and assist in providing the mental and physical activities animals need to regain and maintain their wellbeing.

Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to education, training, experience, location, business needs, internal equity, market demands or budgeted amount for the role. The target hiring range is for new hire offers only, and staff compensation may increase beyond the maximum hiring range based on performance over time. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience. Screening every patient to verify safety using MRI manufacturer guidelines including but not limited to Gauss/Cm, magnet strength, placement and duration of all implants.
Obtaining all implant information and contacting manufacturer when needed to ensure patient safety before scheduling MRI and importing all documents obtained for MRI clearance as per safety guidelines.
Ensure prior diagnostic testing clearance is obtained, including X-rays and/or proper bloodwork/GFR and required documentation including operative notes are scanned into patient's chart.
Trained in MRI safety level II, and BLS as required by ACR.
Ensure that incoming faxes are delivered and/or acted on immediately.
Retrieves and responds to voice mail messages in a timely manner.

Typical Physical Demands

What You Can Expect:
Actively participate in infection control, risk management and patient education activities
Guide new patients through 120-day education plan
Obtain and record patient vital signs and machine readings during treatment
Role under RN supervision
Set up and break down dialysis blood system for treatment
Insert and remove patient access needles
Monitor patients during dialysis, document changes and inform charge nurse of any concerns
Calculate patient's weight loss to reach dry weight
Determine patientcare priorities and organize work load accordingly
Maintain professional working relationship, observing patient privacy and rights

JOB SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of MRI Manager and Clinical Reception/Authorization Coordinator performs duties required to support the clinical and business operations of the MRI department and the medical practice ensuring services are provided in a professional, timely and courteous manner. These duties are performed in accordance with federal and state laws and regulations governing the privacy and security of patients' PHI (Private Health Information).
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 1-year experience working in a physician group practice.
Knowledgeable of Anatomy & Physiology, and medical terminology.

Upon check-in, arrive patient via computer system; verify demographics, insurance eligibility, referrals and authorizations.

Perform daily chart checks for future visits to include insurance verification, referrals and authorizations.
Scan/import clinical forms daily

Responsible for obtaining Medical Record Release paperwork, when requested by patient and scanning into EMR.
Responsible for maintaining and distributing of medical records for patient pick-up.
Ensure release form has been completed and payments received, when applicable.
Act as liaison between patient and other staff, including medical assistants, physicians, physician assistants, administrative assistants, etc.
Maintain excellent communication with technologist and patients regarding wait times or physician delays.
Conduct a thorough and detailed audit of incoming orders, assuring that both the order and clinical information matches the exam and authorization and informing physician and/or Medical Assistant when correction is needed.
Understanding of the health screening questions, and possible risks associated with MR exams.
Screening every patient to verify safety using MRI manufacturer guidelines including but not limited to Gauss/Cm, magnet strength, placement and duration of all implants.
Obtaining all implant information and contacting manufacturer when needed to ensure patient safety before scheduling MRI and importing all documents obtained for MRI clearance as per safety guidelines.
Ensure prior diagnostic testing clearance is obtained, including X-rays and/or proper bloodwork/GFR and required documentation including operative notes are scanned into patient's chart.
Trained in MRI safety level II, and BLS as required by ACR.
Ensure that incoming faxes are delivered and/or acted on immediately.
Retrieves and responds to voice mail messages in a timely manner.
Other
Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice
Maintains detailed knowledge of practice management and other computer software as it relates to job functions.
Attends regular staff meetings and continuing education sessions as requested
Typical Physical Demands
Work may require sitting for long periods of time, and also stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies. Employee should be capable to lift up to 30 pounds. Position requires manual dexterity sufficient to assist patients on and off the MRI table and to operate a keyboard, computer, telephone, copier, and such other office equipment as necessary. Vision must be correctable to 20/20 and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts. Position also requires viewing computer screens and typing for long periods of time.
