The primary duties of the Surgical Technician include: being prepared for and knowledgeable of the surgical procedure to be performed, setting up and maintaining a sterile field, assists surgeon as necessary, assists circulating nurse and other members of the surgical team, maintains familiarity, function and proper care of all OR equipment and instruments. The Surgical Technician initiates responsibility for care of specimens and performs other related duties as assigned.

Obtain and record patient vital signs and machine readings during treatment
Role under RN supervision
Set up and break down dialysis blood system for treatment
Insert and remove patient access needles
Monitor patients during dialysis, document changes and inform charge nurse of any concerns
Calculate patient's weight loss to reach dry weight
Determine patientcare priorities and organize work load accordingly

Provide care and close supervision of patients. Document patient behaviors provide crisis intervention as necessary and implement individualized treatment plans while following Billings Clinic policies and procedures. Work as part of the interdisciplinary team and assist in maintaining a safe environment for both patients and staff.

* Ensure that patients and their environment are safe. Complete patient and environmental safety observations on assigned unit. Attentive to possible issues on the unit due to escalating behaviors or environmental factors and report concerns to Charge nurse.

Your day.
As a EMT Ground Transport, you need to know how to:
Obtains patients vital signs to include blood pressure, pulse and temperature and understands normal ranges and changes. Informs RNs or Physician of changes in vital signs
Works with EMT or Paramedic partner to provide safe transport of patients between hospital and receiving facility.
Effective interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication
Conducts an inspection of ambulance and equipment at the beginning of each shift to ensure ability to care for patients
Establishes and maintains effective radio communication with HELP Flight dispatch and other agencies
Initiates department standing orders in appropriate patients. Performs basic airway techniques including oxygen therapy.
Participates in HELP Flight Safety committee
Able to load and unload ambulance stretcher with one person assist
Completes an initial assessment of the patient and documents in the EMR.
Initiates needed interventions to support safe patient transport
Provides safe movement of patients, applying principles of safe patient handling.

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Completion of Basic EMT training program or Paramedic Training is required in the state of practice.
Preferred: Emergency Vehicle Operator Course or equivalent
Must have current Montana and National Registry
Emergency Medical Technician certification
Must maintain current AHA Basic Life Support Certification
Must have valid and unrestricted United States Drivers License
Minimum of 1 year experience as an EMT
