Part-time/temporary faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must meet one of the following qualifications under (a) through (d):
a. Valid California Community College instructor credential, appropriate to the subject, per Education Code 87355 (issued prior to July 1, 1990);
b. Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience.
c. Associate degree and six years of professional experience.
d. Or, possess a combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent to the above. Candidates making an application on the basis of equivalency must submit an Application for Equivalency in addition to all other required materials.
2. Evidence of a sensitivity to, understanding of, and the ability to manage the classroom environment AND effectively provide instruction to community college students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds.

Conditions of Employment
Employment is on a part-time, temporary basis and contingent upon verification of employment history, background verification as governed under Education Code requirements, eligibility to work in the United States, and approval by the CCCD Board of Trustees. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Responsible for conducting client Intake/Discharge Inventory's and documenting all items in the EMR system.
Provide line of sight supervision to clients throughout the duration of your shift.

Strive to increase professional growth and effectiveness through completing all required trainings in a timely fashion.
Provides crisis intervention services when authorized and necessary.

Statement of Purpose The Mental Health Tech fulfills the assigned role as a part of the treatment team, maintaining the well-being of clients and integrity of the program. Provides client supervision and staff/unit support as assigned. The Mental Health Worker reports directly to the Program Director.
Major Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
Completes admission procedures on new clients including tech paperwork, room assignments, and initial orientation.
Conducts property searches of clients as required by program standards.
Performs urine drug screen testing of clients as required.
Performs Medication call supervision as required.
Provides transportation services including patient transportation, donation pick-ups, agency errands, etc.
Attends in-service training and educational workshops.
Attends all required staff meetings.
Knowledge of mental health, drug and alcohol abuse, family systems and various recovery resources in the community such as Smart Recovery/other resources in the community.
Develop and maintain individualized records of client progress (shift notes) and participation in treatment including admission and discharge, individual sessions, group facilitation, family, vocational (both individual and group) literacy training and other occasions as appropriate. Technician will not be doing any treatment planning or counseling services unless registered to do so. Restricted EHR access.
Ability to write clear (and concise) statements, summarizing client's feelings, expressions, resistance and response to their treatment plan; goals and objectives. Includes letters to referral agencies, courts/probation.
Ability to confront behavioral changes, identifies a crisis, and recognize when additional assistance is necessary.
Ability to recognize personal recovery issues that have an impact on job performance and interactions with clients.
Fully understands and maintains policies regarding professional ethics, including appropriate boundaries and patient confidentiality.
Ability to demonstrate respect for cultural and lifestyle diversities of clients and staff.
Basic knowledge of referrals, both in and out of the program.
Working knowledge of the philosophy and approach Smart Recovery and 12 step program (if client would like 12 step program).
Ability to communicate clearly, with clients, staff, peers, supervisors and non-company resources.

Prerequisite Qualifications

_____ Must have one year full-time experience, or its part-time equivalent working in a program serving persons with mental disabilities. If this experience requirement is not met, a plan of supervision must be completed. If facilitating groups, must be registered or certified by an approved agency.
_____ Class "C" Driver's License (if driving for company), otherwise, will need Photo ID.
_____ First Aid certification required, obtain upon employment and maintain current thereafter.
_____ CPR certification required, obtain upon employment and maintain current thereafter.

Job Requirements
High School Graduate or equivalent required
Minimum of one (1) year mental health worker experience working with psychiatric patients either in an inpatient or residential setting required.
Current AHA BLS card.
Must maintain current Fire Safety cards.
CNA or EMT Preferred
