Short Description Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), assists with patients' activities of daily living and plan of care. Communicates with and supports healthcare team, patients and/or patient's family or significant other(s). Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics. Overview Kelemen 10 is a medical-surgical unit that cares for patients who have various needs and disease processes. Both North and South 10 have Telemetry capabilities for our patients. Each unit, North/South houses 36 patients and 2 hallway areas totaling a maximum of 76 patients. South 10 has a 12-bed Intermediate Care Unit embedded within the 36-bed unit. The capacity of INCU is not usually more than 12 patients. INCU has critically care-trained RNs who support the patient's needs and care for ventilated patients. South 10 also has 2 negative pressure isolation rooms with an anti-room that is used when needed for specific isolation needs. We do multidisciplinary rounds Monday - Friday. This involves the patient in their care and allows the team members to collaborate with the patient to give them the best possible care and appropriate discharge to home or other facilities. We have a pharmacist who has an office on the unit to assist the RNs when needed to help avoid delay of care to any patient. Experience Required 0-2 years' experience required. Education Requirements High School/GED required. License/Certification Requirements * AHA Basic Life Support certification required. * Successful completion of an unlicensed health care provider/ technician program required. * Completed at least one fundamental nursing course in an accredited Nursing Program required. * 1 year or more patient care experience in a similar role required. * At least one of the above qualifications/certifications must be met for hire. * Communication - Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and coworkers required. * Successful phlebotomy/EKG competency must be completed during orientation required.

Responsible for stocking and ordering of equipment and supplies and maintaining a 24 hour ready status in all units. Responsible for cleaning, maintenance and stocking of unit equipment and supply in procedure carts. #LI-CU1 Overview The Trauma /Surgical ICU (TSICU) is a 28-bed critical care unit specializing in the care of trauma tically injured patients or those patients undergoing complex surgeries requiring close monitoring and care. Patients are admitted directly from the ED, the Ross Trauma Admitting Area, or the operating room. Patients usually cared for in this area include those with trauma tic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, rib fractures and lung injuries, as well as diverse orthopedic injuries requiring frequent monitoring and care. Many patients cared for the in the TSICU are poly- trauma , with injuries involving more than one body system. Common surgical patients include those undergoing Whipple procedures, esophagectomies, gastrostomies, and abdominal aortic aneurysms. The unit is staffed with registered nurses, critical care technicians, trauma surgery nurse practitioners, resident physicians and attending trauma surgeons. Staff also work closely with respiratory therapy and specialized surgical groups such as orthopedics and neurosurgery. Nurses and critical care technicians working in this area receive education specific to the care of the trauma patient. #LI-CU1 Experience Required EMT Field and pre-hospital experience. EKG, Phlebotomy, ACCU-Check. Education Requirements High School Diploma or Equivalent required. License/Certification Requirements Current New Jersey EMT certification or eligible for reciprocity, NREMT preferred. Current NJ-BLS Certification (Basic Life Support). Special Requirements full time nights, 36 hours a week hours: 7p-7:30a with weekend/holiday rotation
