Short Description Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), assists with patients' activities of daily living and plan of care. Overview Kelemen 10 is a medical-surgical unit that cares for patients who have various needs and disease processes. Both North and South 10 have Telemetry capabilities for our patients. Each unit, North/South houses 36 patients and 2 hallway areas totaling a maximum of 76 patients. South 10 has a 12-bed Intermediate Care Unit embedded within the 36-bed unit. The capacity of INCU is not usually more than 12 patients. INCU has critically care-trained RNs who support the patient's needs and care for ventilated patients. South 10 also has 2 negative pressure isolation rooms with an anti-room that is used when needed for specific isolation needs. We do multidisciplinary rounds Monday - Friday. This involves the patient in their care and allows the team members to collaborate with the patient to give them the best possible care and appropriate discharge to home or other facilities. We have a pharmacist who has an office on the unit to assist the RNs when needed to help avoid delay of care to any patient. Experience Required 0-2 years' experience required. Education Requirements High School/GED required. License/Certification Requirements * AHA Basic Life Support certification required. * Successful completion of an unlicensed health care provider/ technician program required. * Completed at least one fundamental nursing course in an accredited Nursing Program required. * 1 year or more patientcare experience in a similar role required. * At least one of the above qualifications/certifications must be met for hire. * Communication - Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and coworkers required. * Successful phlebotomy/EKG competency must be completed during orientation required.

What You Can Expect:
Actively participate in infection control, risk management and patient education activities
Guide new patients through 120-day education plan
Obtain and record patient vital signs and machine readings during treatment
Role under RN supervision
Set up and break down dialysis blood system for treatment
Insert and remove patient access needles
Monitor patients during dialysis, document changes and inform charge nurse of any concerns
Calculate patient's weight loss to reach dry weight
Determine patientcare priorities and organize work load accordingly
Maintain professional working relationship, observing patient privacy and rights
Maintain and track inventory

How you will change lives
As a PatientCareTechnician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team providing care and delegated activities of treatment to patients. The PCT will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN) for patients with renal failure.
What you'll be doing
Patientcare. You will work directly with patients to provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment. Responsibilities include gathering patient stats before and after treatment, initiating treatment, monitoring patients during treatment, terminating treatment, and collecting patient blood samples per physician orders.
Technician Duties. You will ensure quality comes first by preparing machines for hemodialysis treatments, cleaning and disinfecting machines after treatment, and conducting machine safety checks and logging results for quality control, ensuring all protocols and regulations are followed.
Safety and Quality. You will use appropriate safety measures, including personal protective equipment. Working under the supervision of a Charge Nurse, you will adhere to all company policies, procedures, and state/federal laws and regulations. You will participate in all required staff meetings and continuing education offerings.

4 South - Adult Progressive/Telemetry Unit:
The Adult Progressive/Telemetry Unit is located on the fourth floor of the South Tower building. This is a 32-bed unit with capabilities for telemetry cardiac monitoring. The most frequent diagnoses for the medical patients are cardiovascular disorders and cardio-respiratory conditions. The surgical patients represent a variety of specialties including but not limited to general surgery and cardiovascular surgery. Cardiovascular intervention/procedural patients (post cardiac stent, cardiac device placement, etc.) are often placed on this unit. Medical and/or surgical patients requiring a more intensive level of care, as well as cardiac monitoring may be PCU level of care. Examples of the PCU level of care include but are not limited to vasoactive drug administration, invasive monitoring, advanced sepsis, and DKA.

Responsible for stocking and ordering of equipment and supplies and maintaining a 24 hour ready status in all units. Responsible for cleaning, maintenance and stocking of unit equipment and supply in procedure carts. #LI-CU1 Overview The Trauma /Surgical ICU (TSICU) is a 28-bed critical care unit specializing in the care of trauma tically injured patients or those patients undergoing complex surgeries requiring close monitoring and care. Patients are admitted directly from the ED, the Ross Trauma Admitting Area, or the operating room. Patients usually cared for in this area include those with trauma tic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, rib fractures and lung injuries, as well as diverse orthopedic injuries requiring frequent monitoring and care. Many patientscared for the in the TSICU are poly- trauma , with injuries involving more than one body system. Common surgical patients include those undergoing Whipple procedures, esophagectomies, gastrostomies, and abdominal aortic aneurysms. The unit is staffed with registered nurses, critical caretechnicians, trauma surgery nurse practitioners, resident physicians and attending trauma surgeons. Staff also work closely with respiratory therapy and specialized surgical groups such as orthopedics and neurosurgery. Nurses and critical caretechnicians working in this area receive education specific to the care of the trauma patient. #LI-CU1 Experience Required EMT Field and pre-hospital experience. EKG, Phlebotomy, ACCU-Check. Education Requirements High School Diploma or Equivalent required. License/Certification Requirements Current New Jersey EMT certification or eligible for reciprocity, NREMT preferred. Current NJ-BLS Certification (Basic Life Support). Special Requirements full time nights, 36 hours a week hours: 7p-7:30a with weekend/holiday rotation
