The Behavioral Technician will provide clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction
protocols based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to children with Autism and
related developmental disabilities in the home, community, and school settings. The Behavioral
Technician will collect data on programs, assist with parent training, and assist the Behavior
Analyst, Lead Behavioral Technician, and ABA Interns with clinical assessments as needed. The
Behavioral Technician will be responsible for implementing the duties of the Lead Behavioral
Technician and ABA Interns in the temporary absence of these team members. Essential
components of this position are listed below but subject to change at the discretion of Autism
Therapeutic Services LLC. This job description describes essential job functions, but does not
provide an exhaustive list of duties that may be assigned. Specific duties & responsibilities will
vary depending upon classification (Behavioral Tech 1-5).
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Complete introduction to Autism and ABA Training
Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive
teaching and natural environment training arrangements.
Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.
Follow and record data for prescribed toilet training protocols.
Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with client's individualized treatment and
behavior reduction protocols.
Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by
the Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
Utilize safe and appropriate handling procedures when working with clients.
Maintain client confidentiality.
Assist Lead Behavioral Technician, Behavior Analysts, and ABA Interns with skill acquisition
and behavior reduction assessments.
Assist Lead Behavioral Technician, Behavior Analysts, and ABA Interns in preparing client
materials as instructed.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
Assume Lead Behavioral Technician responsibilities in their absence.
Collaborate with treatment team including client, parents and caregivers, outside professionals,
Lead Behavioral Technician, ABA Interns, and co-workers.
Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings.

BASIC & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be able to lift and carry clients with adaptive equipment.
Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling,
sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time.
Must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as
indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan in the course of working with children with
challenging behavior.
Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for
data collection.
Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include home, school, and
community placements.
Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication.
Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer,
electronic devices, and paper means.
Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between different job sites
within the Greater Worcester Area and other assigned locations.
Must have a valid Driver's License & insurance in good standing
Must have open communication with BCBA, supervisor, office manager and family

EXPERIENCE:
Required: None
Preferred: Experience working with children ages 0-16 providing in a classroom or 1:1 setting;
experience implementing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis; Educational, Speech, or

EDUCATION
Required: High School Diploma & a GED equivalent .
Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Education, Applied Behavior

What will your day look like? You will:

Ensure clients are filling out self-observation sheets for medication.

Overnight is responsible for hourly rounds unless otherwise specified for high-risk clients, all rounds documented in MHT chat
Transporting clients to and from appointments, clinical services, employment if applicable, and other outside activities. Ensuring Epiphany's driving policy is being followed and if an accident occurs, accident policy is followed
Performing Urinalysis as assigned, reading urinalysis results on a 12-panel, and reporting and recording appropriate documentation as well as communicating to appropriate supervisor.
Performing breathalyzers on clients as assigned. Reporting any results over 0.00 to on call supervisor
Reporting and completing shift notes for each shift
Following chain of command at all times. Being aware of when and how to report any, and all issues on shift, including but not limited to facilities, clients and other staff
Building positive relationships with clients and staff
Utilizing group chat when on shift for communication with other staff and supervisor
Flexibility - scheduling (coverage can be needed at any time). Client schedule changes, last-minute intakes, behavioral issues etc.
Searching client belongings upon intake, vehicles, and rooms as assigned by Supervisor

Completing client intakes, following all steps as outlined intake protocol
Crisis intervention included but not limited to client altercation (verbal or physical), relapse, behavioral issues
AMA blocking as needed
Facilitating “Empower Hour” multiple times a week with appropriate documentation
Client individuals weekly for all clients on the mental health track with documentation
Complete CSSRS as assigned for clients who report suicidal ideation
Facilitating client rules and responsibilities, and reporting non-compliance to supervisor
What you will need for this position:
Minimum of one (2) year in the mental health field (preferred).
Working knowledge of 12-Step Program, AA or NA (preferred).
High School Diploma or GED.
Mental Health Technician Certification (preferred).
CPR Certified (preferred).
ECPR: (preferred)
Standard First Aid Certification (preferred).
Valid Driver's License, with minimum 2 years CLEAN driving record; (required).

We're looking for a Behavioral Health Tech to join our Central Staffing Office/Float pool to provide basic 1:1 direct care to patients as delegated by a Registered Nurse, across all of our inpatient units. Key Responsibilities * Provides one-on-one support, as needed, to patients with a variety of behavioral health needs.
* Closely monitors and maintains the safety of patients. Observe behaviors and conditions in accordance with established procedures and protocols.
* In conjunction with Registered Nurse, conducts environmental checks and helps identify risk factors.
* Aids with the implementation of safety measures, such as physical restraints, observation levels, and suicide watches, as warranted.
* Responds to and assists with de-escalating acute behavioral episodes in a therapeutic and supportive manner. Attempts to understand the source of distress.
* Under the direction of Registered Nurse and medical staff, prevents elopement and calls for support/assistance when necessary to assist in preventing elopement.
* Identifies patient behaviors that could lead to behavioral escalation and utilizes non-verbal and verbal techniques to de-escalate situations.
* Actively monitors patients and the environment with particular attention to safety concerns.
* May perform vital signs and assist with Activities of Daily Living as directed by the Registered Nurse.
* Completes patientcare documentation and administrative duties
* Under the direction of Registered Nurse, may assist practitioners performing medical procedures
* Working 40 hours, day/night rotating and every third weekend. Straight nights also possible.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
* A HS Diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree preferred.
Experience:
* BLS (Basic Life Support) within three months of hire
* Welle De-escalation training within six months of hire
* Six months of practical experience in a behavioral health or educational setting preferred
The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Ensure awareness of patient's individualized plan of care including goals and interventions.

Document the treatment plan, nursing interventions and the patient's response to the intervention.
Ensure intervention is based on the patient's plan of care.

Under the direction of a Mental Health Technician Supervisor and Milieu Director, primarily responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for youth and functioning as part of an interdisciplinary team who will provide short-term mental health crisis stabilization services for youth aged 13-18. The Mental Health Technician II is expected to be knowledgeable of the agency's mission, program treatment philosophy, policies, and procedures and to implement this understanding in their direct care and supervision of youth.
How You'll Be Making a Difference
Knowledge and application of program routines and structure. Maintain a firm understanding of the population of youth in need of short-term mental health stabilization
Foster healthy, appropriate relationships with youth through daily interactions
Ensure a therapeutic milieu environment for youth, maintaining a safe and healthy environment; meet the physical and emotional needs of youth. Manage living, dining, educational, and recreational areas to provide a clean and organized environment for youth.
Supervise and coordinate activities of daily living for youth, including hygiene, laundry, chores, and other activities. Coordinate transition from each scheduled activity. Ensure adequate supervision of youth through coordination of care with other staff.
Plan, facilitate and participate in activities with youth on an individual and small group level in accordance with treatment plans and goals. Teach age-appropriate life skills and social skills through modeling, counseling, and other techniques. Participate in groups and activities designed to enhance growth and development
Participate in the creation of client treatment plans (when appropriate) and ensure implementation of goals, objectives and interventions within the milieu.
Provide First Aid appropriately as needed
Provide in-the-moment supervision and facilitate reflective practice with MHT I staff as needed
Provide group and individual behavior support and intervention as trained, including the use of TCI physical restraint as necessary. Report and or coordinate medical and emergency situations to RN/LPN and supervisors on shift.
Communicate through written documentation and verbal means with other program staff on positive skills and accomplishments as well as difficult or challenging client issues
Complete all assigned paperwork including time sheet, incident reporting, required logs, shift notes and 51A's in a thorough and timely manner
Attend all required meetings as necessary
Actively participate in supervision with supervisors and any required training/professional development opportunities
MAP (Medication Administration Program) certificate (or certification within 6mos of hire)
Interact with all coworkers in a professional and respectful manner.
Interact with all families, collaterals, and youth in a professional, respectful, and appropriate manner and ensure all other direct-care staff do the same.
Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or high school diploma
Must have one year plus of work experience in a residential, inpatient, or other mental health setting with a similar population of youth or adults
