To provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to be successful in their courses and pass any licensure and/or certification examination and enter and progress in the program. Salary Range: $50 - $55/hour
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and evidence-based instruction in Patient Care Technician courses, including classroom, lab, and clinical components.
* Develop, update, and implement curriculum and instructional materials aligned with industry standards and program objectives.
* Evaluate student performance through assignments, skills assessments, examinations, and clinical evaluations.
* Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress in compliance with institutional and accrediting standards.
* Supervise and instruct students during clinical rotations at affiliated healthcare facilities (if applicable).
* Provide constructive feedback and academic support to students to promote success.
* Participate in adjunct faculty meetings, training sessions, and program-related events as needed.
Job Location
The job is primarily performed onsite at any Berkeley College campus (Woodland Park and Newark, NJ). However, the job can be remote as the discretion of the Department Chairperson.
Educational Requirements
* Current, active, and unencumbered license or certification as a Registered Nurse (RN)
* Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care experience in a clinical setting.
* Experience teaching or training in a healthcare or academic setting preferred.
* Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in using instructional technology and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Training and/or Experience
* A minimum of 1 year of relevant teaching experience at the college level or 3 years of professional experience in the healthcare field is required.
* Possession of a valid National Healthcareer Association certification relevant to the class you are applying for (CPCT-A) is required. For Patient Care Technician courses, an active New Jersey Registered Professional Nurse license is required.

Overview of Position:
This part-time instructor position reports to the Associate Director of Professional Certificates & Training. This role provides patient care-related instruction in the classroom, ensuring that students gain the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for certification and effective performance in a healthcare setting.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
* Teach on-site courses on patient care, including topics such as basic nursing skills, patient safety, vital signs monitoring, and patient communication.

Inspects the phlebotomy cart for expiration, and adequate supply and also fills in the daily inspection checklist before using the cart at the beginning or whenever the cart is used the first time in that shift.
Assures proper patient identification by checking the patient's ID wristband with the requisition slips. Follow correct patient identification through out the processing.
Draws the blood from patients and brings the blood specimens to the appropriate laboratory section.
Properly labels all the blood specimens collected in the presence of the patient writes the test requested in a logbook, and files the paperwork as required.
Records phlebotomy requisitions on appropriate log sheets (STAT, OP, etc.). Assures complete patient identification on the requisitions including the diagnosis.
Assist laboratory techs in receiving dropped off specimen in Paragon.
Centrifuge specimen appropriately according to the instructions.
Maintains the outpatient phlebotomy room in a sanitary condition, free of floor clutter and fully stocked of phlebotomy supplies.
Maintains the phlebotomy supply room in a sanitary condition and free of floor clutter. Stock the shelves in a manner that older supplies get used first.
Responsible for the safety of the pager and handheld equipment assigned to each phlebotomist even when not in use by storing in assigned lockers and not in the phlebotomy cart.
Labels the sharp collectors, prepares them for discard when ¾ full and brings them down to the Central Service department for disposal.

This position currently sits at the Woodland Park and the Newark NJ, locations day or evening.
To provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to be successful in their courses and pass any licensure and/or certification examination and enter and progress in the program. The philosophy of Berkeley College requires that all education, training and preparation be conducted in a professional manner to meet both student and employer needs.
Salary Range: $50 - $55/hour
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and evidence-based instruction in Patient Care Technician courses, including classroom, lab, and clinical components.
Develop, update, and implement curriculum and instructional materials aligned with industry standards and program objectives.
Evaluate student performance through assignments, skills assessments, examinations, and clinical evaluations.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress in compliance with institutional and accrediting standards.
Supervise and instruct students during clinical rotations at affiliated healthcare facilities (if applicable).
Provide constructive feedback and academic support to students to promote success.
Participate in adjunct faculty meetings, training sessions, and program-related events as needed.
Job Location
The job is primarily performed onsite at any Berkeley College campus (Woodland Park and Newark, NJ). However, the job can be remote as the discretion of the Department Chairperson.
Educational Requirements
Current, active, and unencumbered license or certification as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care experience in a clinical setting.
Experience teaching or training in a healthcare or academic setting preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in using instructional technology and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Training and/or Experience
A minimum of 1 year of relevant teaching experience at the college level or 3 years of professional experience in the healthcare field is required.
Possession of a valid National Healthcareer Association certification relevant to the class you are applying for (CPCT-A) is required. For Patient Care Technician courses, an active New Jersey Registered Professional Nurse license is required.
