Co-Caring is a new model of care delivery including a collaborative partnership of bedside (RN and LVN) and virtual caregivers (RN), each practicing at the top of their scope to deliver high quality care and an exceptional patient experience. We are a 33-bed surgical unit with primarily surgical ortho trauma admissions from the Emergency Department and transfers from PACU/NSI/SICU. We treat patients with elective and non-elective surgeries. Our elective surgeries are mostly spine surgeries and a few joint replacements. Our non-elective surgeries are trauma (accidents, falls), appy/chole/small bowel obstructions, and a handful of medical (cellulitis, infections).
