COMPENSATION:
Compensation for roles at THE CAMP RECOVERY CENTER varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, role, skill set, and level of experience. This is a PRN PatientCare Tech position. Shifts are 8-hours, and are overtime eligible.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Demonstrate a sense of urgency related to the importance of patient safety and provide excellent customer services.
Ensure the well-being of patients and provide a positive, supportive and structured environment.
Responsible for conducting safety checks and ensuring that supervision is conducted at 15 minute intervals, as noted in special precautions, or in accordance with individualized supervision guidelines as needed.
Document timely, accurate and appropriate clinical information in patient's medical record.
Assist in providing a safe, secure and comfortable environment for patients, significant others and staff.
Interact routinely with patients, observe behaviors and communicate significant observations to nursing staff.
May oversee or assist patients with activities of daily living, including toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, meals, snacks, hydration and changing bed linens.
May obtain patient's vital signs, height and weight as assigned and document in patient record.
Facilitate patient educational-rehabilitative groups which cover a variety of topics including social skills, coping skills, anger management and independent living skills.
Engage patients in activities and interactions designed to encourage achievement of treatment goals.
Complete and maintain required documentation. Assist with follow-up and paperwork as required on incidents and events that may take place in the facility.
May provide transportation for patient or coordinate transportation with appropriate staff member.
Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Six months or more experience working with the specific population of the facility preferred.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
* CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
* First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Job Description
Under the direction of a licensed physician, registered nurse, or clinical supervisor, the Psychiatric Technician performs professional therapeutic procedures in the care and treatment of severely and persistently mentally ill and emotionally disturbed patients.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Gives a basic level of general and psychiatric nursing care to mentally ill patients; works with an interdisciplinary treatment team to provide an overall treatment program for the patient;
Under supervision, may perform nursing procedures such as administering medications and treatments, including oral medications, injections, and enemas, taking and charting vital signs;
Observes patients' condition and behavior; reports significant changes to supervisor or physician and documents care and/or treatments in nursing progress notes on patients; prepares patients and cares for them during treatment; gives first aid as needed;
Helps to create a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and recognizes early symptoms/signs of escalation and at risk behavior; uses appropriate interventions including crisis intervention, verbal de-escalation, and alerting other team members;
Implements therapeutic activities and documents patient participation; assists rehabilitation therapists in occupational and recreational therapies for patients;
Motivates patients to develop independence in performing activities of daily living; assists patients with feeding, clothing, toileting, activities of daily living; ensure patients follow safe practices that protect patients and others from personal injury;
Receives visitors and encourages their interest in the patients' wellbeing and treatment plan; escorts patients on the facility premises and to and from the community; orders supplies as needed; keeps records; participates in orientation and in-service training programs;

Nature of Positions: Positions may require considerable physical effort in controlling or restraining violent clients, with continuous exposure to conditions which may result in accidents or injuries or other uncomfortable situations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
LICENSE: Possession of a valid Psychiatric Technicians license issued by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.

Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a PatientCareTechnician (PCT), you will deliver essential direct patientcare under the supervision of our clinical team. Leveraging your knowledge of basic patientcare principles and medical terminology, you will perform a range of daily duties.
Every day you will actively assist patients with personal care, mobility, and feeding, monitoring vital signs, documenting observations, and maintaining a therapeutic and organized patient environment. You will also work closely with the nursing team to prepare patients for procedures or transport.
To be successful in this role requires a genuine passion for patient well-being, diligence in executing tasks, keen observational skills regarding patient conditions, and a proactive approach to continuous learning and professional development.
Clerical Skills: Competent and proficient in Health Information Systems, supply ordering and departmental data/reports
Technical Skills: Competent in psychomotor skills and technical procedures within scope of practice. Includes care of patient drains, tubes, special equipment, ADL's, mobility, Hospital Information System proficiency, I & O, response in emergency.
Documentation: Performs legible, timely, concise and accurate documentation according to policies and procedures. Proficient and competent with the computerized documentation system.
Organizational Skills: Uses appropriate organization, priority setting and problem solving skills.
Communication: Communicates clearly and effectively using proper communication etiquette and manages multiple phone and intercom lines.
Uses medical terminology accurately. Includes reporting abnormal or change in patient condition to appropriate personnel in a timely manner. Maintains confidentiality.
Job Requirements
Required:
6 months experience, within the last 3 years, in an acute care hospital setting, healthcare clinic, skilled nursing facility, or home health setting as a Care Assistant or Nurse Assistant, medical assistant or nursing student with one semester in clinical setting, or complete hospital patientcare training.

Position Summary:
The Resident Care Associate (RCA) provides personal care, companion care, nursing assistance and other assigned tasks to residents living in Eskaton communities. The Resident Care Associate duties include direct resident care, assisting in daily living activities, grocery or personal shopping, errands and other domestic tasks as well as documentation of care provided. Duties and assignments may be adjusted at the discretion of the Resident Care Coordinator, Memory Care Coordinator, or Wellness Nurse based on an evaluation of resident needs.
The starting salary for this position is $23.75. This position will be scheduled for AM and PM shifts on Sunday and Monday. $2.00 shift deferential available for weekend shifts.
Qualifications
Education:
High school graduate or G.E.D. preferred. Proficient ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language.
Training and Experience:
Six (6) months experience in providing personal care in a residential or long-term care setting preferred. Valid/current first aid certification.
Job Knowledge:
Knowledge in performing personal care services in a residential environment. Ability to meet new and/or stressful situations with the appropriate responses. Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team, to share information freely, to use and seek supervision and consultation verbally and in writing, and be able to follow both verbal and written instructions.
The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton's post offer, pre-employment testing which includes a criminal background check, drug test, TB screen test and health screen.
