Responds to Code Blue situations in all areas of the hospital as directed utilizing all CPI principles in verbal de-escalation, physical restraint (appropriate to age), 4 point restraint and maintaining a safe environment in all situations, under the clinical supervision of a CPI trained RN. Initiates and maintains appropriate and accurate documentation as required by UHS policy and procedure.
Escorts patients away from the hospital campus and works closely with the interdisciplinary staff in the planning of transfers.
Performs duties such as errands, covering telephones, and other limited tasks on the units.
Performs assigned housekeeping duties.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Required:

Job Description
MAIN FUNCTION:
The Same Day Services PatientCareTechnician is a caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for Same Day Services patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Same Day Services consists of the Preadmission Center and Same Day Surgery. The SDS-PCT provides care to the Same Day Services patient via coordinating reservations/scheduling, teaching, data collection and documentation, providing direct patientcare assistance to the RN and MD, phlebotomy, and EKG. This is done in collaboration with other health care team members.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
** 1. Is responsible for interviewing patient, collecting and documenting basic patient information/data, filling out necessary forms and records, and witnessing consents in a thorough, concise, timely manner in accordance with Division of Nursing Standards, documentation guidelines and age of patient.
** 2. Provides patient education as delineated (i.e. health care directives) and documents in accordance with Division of Nursing Standards, documentation guidelines and age of patient.
** 3. Assists the RN in providing direct patientcare pre-admission, pre-procedure, and post-procedure as delegated. Observes patient and reports any changes in patient condition immediately to the RN.
** 4. Performs tasks on the SDS-PCT Orientation and Skills Checklist adequately.
5. Calmly carries out instructions in an emergency situation.
6. Demonstrates awareness of Patient Rights; treats patients/families with respect, dignity, and kindness.
** 7. Keeps all patient information confidential.
8. Consistently demonstrates the ability to adapt to change in workload/assignments.
9. Continually uses time to maximize full potential. Sets priorities.
10. Takes initiative to make improvements and resolve issues. Reports any irregularities in routine that he/she feels need more evaluation and identification for problem solving to the Charge Nurse or Unit Director.
11. Seeks validation of knowledge base, skill level, and decision-making, as necessary, and seeks guidance in areas of question. Seeks assistance when performing an unfamiliar procedure. Belongs to professional organization(s) and obtains certification in field as appropriate.
12. Participates in teaching others; serves as preceptor for newly hired SDS-PCT.
13. Participates in development and attainment of Same Day Services goals. Demonstrates awareness of need for self-growth by assessing strengths and weaknesses and establishing written goals.
** 14. Follows the attendance and punctuality policies of the Division of Nursing. Provides timely notification for absence or tardiness.
** 15. Assumes responsibility to attend mandatory inservices of the Arnot Health, Division of Nursing, and Unit.
16. Assumes responsibility for information shared in staff meetings.
17. Dresses professionally and appropriately for the position; wears name tag visibly.
** 18. Functions with an awareness of risk management and safety issues and reports appropriately.
** 19. Follows Arnot Health and Division of Nursing policy and procedure regarding infection control.

EDUCATION:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

You will demonstrate an exemplary level of understanding and competency in applying the principles of dialysis, dialysis technology, and the expert skills required to maintain, repair and trouble-shoot all aspects of machines, equipment and water treatment systems.
The Dialysis Biomedical Technician will be maintaining the following equipment:
2008K and Nepro Machines, Ameri-water Central system, and Marcor Millenium
Education:
High school diploma/GED
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of dialysis biomedical experience
Previous Acute, Outpatient, and or SNF dialysis biomedical machine repair
Certificate of repair for equipment being utilized
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to travel within the state; including a valid driver license and car insurance.
Works independently and collaboratively with other leadership teammates
Rapidly problem solves to repair failed biomedical equipment and systems.
Responsible for maintenance of physical plant.
Maintains ancillary equipment and water treatment systems
Follows infection control policies and procedures pertaining to machine equipment, water treatment and physical plant.
Maintains logs and documentation of activities in accordance with CDI Health's policies and procedures.
Communicates significant information to appropriate biomedical team members and documents in a clear, concise, and accurate manner.
Supervision: This position will report directly to Regional Biomedical Services Manager
As in any setting, this involves teamwork and coordinating care with the healthcare team. In addition to the healthcare team, you are also required to maintain strong relationships, regular communication, and visibility with clients (site Managed Healthcare, DOC/BOP, etc.)
Work Environment:
This job exists in a hospital or in the medical unit of a post-acute or correctional facility. This role may include exposure to chemicals and blood-borne pathogens. This role routinely involves the use of both medical and standard office equipment.

The New York Department of Corrections/Federal Bureau of Prisons and all applicable law require a comprehensive background check for all employees working in this position. This background check will be conducted after an offer, if any, is made.

Position Summary:
The Certified Surgical Technician (CST) plays a critical role in supporting ophthalmic surgical procedures by maintaining sterile technique, preparing the operating room, and assisting the surgical team throughout the intraoperative phase. Working in a high-volume ambulatory surgery center (ASC), the CST ensures surgical efficiency, patient safety, and adherence to infection control standards.
This position requires collaboration with surgeons, Registered Nurses (RNs), anesthesia providers, and other clinical staff to promote optimal surgical outcomes. The CST is expected to demonstrate technical proficiency in ophthalmic instrumentation, sterile processing, and surgical procedures.
Job Duties & Essential Functions:
Preoperative
Prepare operating rooms with appropriate surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies.
Ensure proper functioning of surgical instruments and equipment prior to procedures.
Assist with patient positioning and sterile field setup.
Verify patient and surgical procedure information in coordination with the surgical team.
Intraoperative
Assist surgeons by passing instruments and supplies during procedures.
Maintain a sterile environment and anticipate surgeon needs during surgery.
Monitor and manage the surgical field and instrumentation to prevent contamination.
Handle specimens appropriately and according to protocol.
Document intraoperative activities as required.
Postoperative
Assist with instrument and equipment breakdown and proper reprocessing.
Dispose of biohazard materials according to infection control protocols.
Restock operating room supplies and prepare for the next case.
Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure smooth transitions between cases.
General Responsibilities
Maintain competency in aseptic technique and ophthalmic surgical procedures.
Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and equipment sterilization standards.
Participate in ongoing performance improvement and quality assurance activities.
Assist with inventory control and supply management for the operating room.
Provide orientation and support to new surgical technologists and clinical team members.

Required Qualifications:

Current BLS certification or obtain within 6 months of employment
