Pathway 1 - Concierge Primary Care:
Physicians experienced in personalized, high-access medicine who want to practice with smaller patient panels, greater autonomy, and unhurried care.
Pathway 2 - Functional & Integrative Primary Care:
Physicians who practice root-cause, systems-based medicine, with advanced training or certification (e.g., IFM preferred) and a strong preventive care mindset.

Requirements:
MD or DO degree
Board-Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
Virginia medical license (or eligible to obtain)
5+ years primary care clinical experience
Strong diagnostics, communication, and bedside manner
Experience in concierge medicine OR functional/integrative medicine (both a major plus)
IFM certification preferred for functional track
Integrative/functional training valued

The Division of Hematology and Cellular Therapy of the Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute seeks a highly skilled and compassionate physician with extensive experience in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of myeloid malignancy, including expertise in allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo HSCT). This position offers a leadership role in a growing and dynamic hematology program dedicated to clinical and translational research and exceptional patient care. The successful candidate will be considered for the directorship of the HSCT program.
Position Summary:
The Physician will provide comprehensive medical care to patients with myeloid malignancy, including but not limited to acute myeloid leukemia (AML), chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), and myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN). This includes overseeing all aspects of patient care, from initial diagnosis and treatment planning to follow-up and supportive care. A significant component of the role involves participation in the allo HSCT program, encompassing pre-transplant evaluation, conditioning regimen selection, transplant procedures, post-transplant management, and the management of complications.
Duties:
Provide comprehensive medical care to patients with myeloid malignancy, including diagnosis, staging, treatment planning, and ongoing management
Perform bone marrow aspiration and biopsy
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating current best practices and clinical trial participation
Participate actively in the allo HSCT program, including patient selection, pre-transplant conditioning, transplant procedure, post-transplant management, and complication management
Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including clinical research personnel, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals
Participate in the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows.
Maintain accurate and complete medical records
Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Adhere to all health system and hospital policies and procedures
Participate in on-call responsibilities as assigned
Contribute to research activity within the department, potentially including investigator-initiated trials, cooperative group and industry sponsored clinical trials, laboratory investigation and publication of research findings
Qualifications:
Extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of myeloid malignancy
Significant experience in all aspects of allo HSCT
Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Strong commitment to patient care and education
Board certified in Hematology
Completion of an ACGME-approved Hematology/Oncology Fellowship
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
Licensed in the state of Pennsylvania prior to employment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with novel therapy for myeloid malignancy
Participation in clinical research
Leadership experience in a clinical or research setting

Scientific Responsibilities - Assistant Member, HMH Center for Discovery & Innovation
Conduct impactful basic or translational research in transplant/immunology.
Pursue grant funding and philanthropic support to sustain laboratory operations.
Lead and oversee laboratory processes, research staff, budgeting, and financial management.
Establish strategic research goals aligned with the clinical goals of the Division of Organ Transplantation.
Hold regular oversight meetings with the Chief Scientific Officer and Director of Transplantation.
Develop and implement laboratory policies, procedures, and personnel decisions.
Mentor and evaluate lab staff performance.
Participate in professional activities, including consulting, editorial work, training, study sections, seminars, and national/international conferences.
Clinical Responsibilities - Attending Nephrologist, Division of Organ Transplantation
Evaluate potential living donor and transplant recipient candidates.
Provide inpatient and outpatient care for pre- and post-transplant donors and recipients.
Teach fellows, residents, nurses, students, and multidisciplinary staff.
Collaborate to ensure full compliance with all regulatory standards.
Participate in policy development, research initiatives, and departmental protocols.
Serve as a resource and representative for organ donation and transplantation at institutional and community events.
Engage regularly with hospital personnel, patients, and visitors.
Education & Experience:
MD or equivalent foreign degree.
Completion of an Internal Medicine Residency and Transplant Fellowship
Consideration for applicants with strong transplant experience during/after a Nephrology Fellowship.
Minimum 3 years in a funded research program.
Demonstrated success securing NIH and/or foundation funding.
Peer-review experience (manuscripts, grants, editorial boards, or review committees).
Minimum of 15 scientific publications, with majority as first or last author.
Licensure & Certification:
Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Nephrology.
Eligible for New Jersey Medical License.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
The physician serves as medical director for skilled nursing facilities (SNF) and participates in administrative and quality initiatives for the facilities he or she is responsible for;
Medical directorship functions include attending and participating in monthly quality assurance and process improvement meetings; participating in quality improvement initiatives; providing guidance to facility staff; reviewing and revising (if necessary) facility's clinical guidelines; insuring compliance with state and federal regulations, training facility staff; and supervising facility clinical staff.
In addition to the medical director role, the physician also serves as the attending physician for the residents residing at each facility;
The physician collaborates with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to manage day to day resident care at each facility. Typically, each facility will have a full-time PA or NP assigned to the facility depending on the acuity and volume of the patient population;
Physician will provide high quality, patient-centered, comprehensive primary care services by rounding on patients residing in SNFs;
Physician is responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with acute illness, such as bacterial and viral infections, as well as chronic diseases and conditions, such as hypertension, heart disease, or diabetes
Physician must be able to supervise collaborating nurse practitioners and physicians assistants
Compensation
Compensation ranges approximately from $1,100 - $1,200 per day (PRN, Part-Time)
