Coordinates, develops, and implements the organization's strategies related to physician integration and development and practice support services. Directs the expansion of the managed care delivery network and the access to medical services in the organization's surrounding communities. Executes and manages all strategies to enhance relations between potential and current medical staff members. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.

Essential Functions:

* Builds, cultivates and strengthens relationships with individual physicians, clinics, physician groups and staff, and the broader community. Analyzes organization and physician related volume/activity on a regular basis. Provides support to administration and service line directors to assist organization in meeting growth strategies as outlined in the organization's strategic plan.
* Coordinates implementation of a physician outreach and retention program. Ensures ongoing identification of new physicians for recruitment or redirection from other facilities into key product lines.
* Works to increase visibility of organizational referrals and increase referrals. Coordinates ongoing physician relations activities including, but not limited to, networking meetings, luncheons, special events and seminars.
* Participates in educational and self-development activities to enhance professional growth.
* Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Role Description

The purpose of the Patient Relations Manager at Oak Street Health is to educate patients about Medicare programs, resources, and affordable insurance coverage options available to them in order to increase patient access to care and retention.

Patient Relations Managers (PRMs) are an integral part of the Oak Street Health care team. Patient Relations Managers are the insurance experts at each clinic and advocate for patients by helping them navigate through insurance options and bills. They are also a resource to the care team and outreach team for questions regarding medicare and eligibility. Patient Relations Managers Are daily key players, particularly during Medicare's Open Enrollment, ensuring that our patients are informed of all their options surrounding Medicare. The Patient Relations Manager will report to the Sr. PRM or Practice Manager.

Responsibilities:

* Assist patients with navigating medicare and insurance issues which includes coverage, benefits, summaries, eligibility and getting the most out of their plan

* Serve as internal resource in the clinic on insurance questions for providers and staff

* Assist patients in navigating the healthcare system, help patients resolve medical bills inside and outside of Oak Street Health (advocate for the patient)

* Gain the trust of Oak Street Health patients in an effort to properly advise them in their healthcare coverage

* Manage the welcome visit and orientation process for new Oak Street Health patients

* Educate patients on how to apply for public benefits, such as Public Aid, and Extra Help for prescription drugs

* Support the clinic management team on operational activities as needed, including scheduling and billing

* Provide exceptional customer service

* Foster patient engagement through the design and execution of events, including center tours

Required Qualifications:

* Computer Skills: Ability to quickly navigate and use multiple computer programs to include, but not limited to: Gmail, MS Word or Google Docs, Excel, etc.

**GOALS:**

+ Patient Recruitment and Retention's (PR&R) mission is to support the study teams in effectively planning for and achieving on-time enrollment by developing and executing innovative patient recruitment and site engagement strategies that leverage strategic partnerships, healthcare data, and technologies.

+ We do this by working with Takeda teams to identify where opportunities and challenges are for recruiting and retaining patients into each study. Once identified, we work with specialized patient recruitment vendors to deliver on targeted strategies and manage campaign performance throughout enrollment.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES:**

+ Post strategy development, lead (and support where appropriate) study-specific recruitment programs working closely with the PR&R leads (where appropriate) clinical study teams, vendors, and CRO as applicable.

+ Work with PR&R specialist to conduct early operational planning and research to evaluate competitive landscape, enrollment modeling, disease prevalence, site identification, and more.

+ Proof and edit materials during development and provide feedback on design elements and written content.

+ Identify new potential vendors that offer innovative solutions.

+ Help manage relationships with existing vendors and ensure vendors are up-to-date on Takeda SOPs and trainings.

+ Work cross-functionally with internal groups including External Partners, Procurement, Legal, QA&C, Patient Advocacy, and more.

+ Assist with developing content such as presentations, articles, and newsletters.

+ Support team initiatives and special projects.

+ Assist with miscellaneous administrative tasks related to the function.

**EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:**

+ Bachelor's degree is required.

+ 2 to 4 years of experience in patient engagement and recruitment discipline within a pharmaceutical company, CRO, patient recruitment vendor or similar organization, or experience in health promotions or marketing

+ Experience in rare disease / difficult to recruit populations a plus

+ Knowledge of current regulatory requirements and guidelines governing clinical research preferred

+ Excellent organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills. A self-starter who motivates, is detail-oriented, has tack, diplomacy, leadership skills and who has flexible and positive approach

+ Is time-aware and is able to challenge assumptions in order to optimize timelines, cost and quality
