Michelle Cohen is an experienced litigator, now serving as Patterson Belknap’s Chief People, Diversity and Professional Development Officer. In this role, Ms. Cohen is responsible for leading the development and execution of the Firm’s Human Resources, Diversity and Inclusion, and Professional Development strategies. She collaborates with Firm leadership to help make Patterson Belknap the best professional home in New York City, maintaining an atmosphere and culture of civility, dignity, inclusion, and respect in which all Firm personnel can engage and flourish.

Ms. Cohen is also Of Counsel in the Firm’s litigation department, where she represents clients in all aspects of litigation in federal and state courts. Her primary areas of practice involve commercial litigation and the defense of consumer class actions, including false advertising claims. She also advises clients in internal investigations, in responding to inquiries and subpoenas from government and regulatory agencies. Ms. Cohen has been named a Rising Star by the New York Law Journal. Rising Star recognition is awarded to attorneys who have “established a record of accomplishments and demonstrated that they are top contributors to the practice of law and their communities.” Ms. Cohen was also named to Benchmark Litigation’s “Under 40 Hotlist” in 2016 and 2017. The list recognizes “practitioners, all aged 40 or younger, [who] have been deemed the most promising emerging talent in their respective litigation communities in the US and Canadian litigation community by peers and clients.”

Ms. Cohen graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received her JD from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif. Before joining the Firm, Ms. Cohen served as Law Clerk to the Hon. Louis L. Stanton, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Throughout her career, Sally has worked closely with senior leaders in law firms and major corporations to significantly increase profitability and productivity by building, leading and motivating highly effective teams of professionals. A London native and dual national of the United Kingdom and the United States, Sally frequently writes and speaks on legal management topics. She is a Trustee of the College of Law Practice Management and serves on the Board of British American Business and Infinite Global PR.

Sheetal Gupta is a Chief Information Officer at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler and is based in City Metropolitan Area, New York City, New York. She has worked as Senior Director, Information Technology at S&P Global Ratings; Executive Director, Technology at Oliver Wyman; and VP, Global Information Technology at Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc.. Sheetal studied at Cornell University Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management between 2008 and 2010 and Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani.
