We are looking to fill a 1st shift and 2nd shift Airfoil Braze Operator production role in our plant in Willoughby, OH (44094). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Clean component parts with acetone, solvent, soap and water or grinding guns with burrs.
* Apply braze paste, preforms, rings, tape, or shim stock to assemblies prior to loading into the furnace.
* Match customer paperwork with parts.
* Fill out and submit a production worksheet on a daily basis and be able to meet specified production rates. Log daily activity detailing jobs processed and/or inspected.
* Mix braze paste and binder to proper specifications, using braze formulas (powder/ binder ratio).
* Assemble parts prior to brazing with equipment or by spot welding.
* Fixture parts for brazing according to the shop order and the work instructions.
* Transport parts to the designated furnace areas using racks, hand carts, and other material handling devices.
* Inspect brazed assemblies per shop order instructions and specifications.
* Log inspection results on the shop orders and in designated log books and/or forms.
* Move inspected parts to the next area designated on the shop order.
* Report discrepancies and equipment problems to the Airfoil Braze Supervisor and/or Maintenance Department.
* Keep an inventory of all tools necessary to perform the job; including fiber optic light, borescopes, and testing devices.
* Keep all tools assigned in locker when not in use and keep all tools in good working condition.
* Ensure that all taping presses are cleaned before and after each use to prevent mixed alloy.
* Work in partnership with Quality Assurance to ensure standards and compliance are met. Utilize training to maintain awareness of critical areas on customer parts.
