The VSAOs will be stationed offshore during 24-hour operations. Duties include but are not limited to identification of protected species; documenting location, documenting behavior and other essential data; documenting data on logs in an organized manner. Candidates will be selected based on their past experience identifying protected species. The VSAO will in opposite shifts during offshore operations which will be conducted 24/7 and will have an average of twelve hours of work per PSO per day. This position is expected to start in late January 2026 for an estimated 1-2 weeks of work. Candidates will be selected based on their experience identifying protected species.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Identify marine animals using the naked eye and visual technology.
Ability to vigilantly monitor for visual detections of marine mammals around observation location for up to 10 hours in a 24-hour period.
Documenting behavior and other essential data
Documenting data on logs in an organized manner
Operate and maintain field equipment including Garmin GPS, binoculars with reticles, range finder, and high-resolution digital camera with video capabilities.
Conduct personal QA/QC checks on data collected.

Position Synopsis: Successful candidate will be relied upon to perform a variety of engineering and design activities involving power plant upgrades and/or new power plant projects under the supervision of senior engineering staff. Successful candidate should have past experience with evaluation, selection and application of standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria. Individual will assist with performing calculations, modifications, and designs. Individual will possess technical knowledge of the electrical discipline and ability to work on project teams with other engineers to assist with evaluating conditions, proposing modifications, and developing design changes which will improve plant performance, safety, and reliability.
Education Required (minimum): BS in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited university.
Experience Required (minimum): Demonstrated knowledge of electrical power distribution systems (switchgear, motor control centers, circuit breakers, etc.) and familiarity with electrical load flow, voltage drop, and short circuit calculation methodology is required. Knowledge can be demonstrated through academic record or work experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, Word, Excel, PowerPoint is required. Effective time management skills are required as position may involve working on several projects concurrently.
